Not good.

Holding out hope for Eldridge (only 19) as part of the future:

Those rankings don't look good for the Giants but young players are really unpredictable. Some of the higher ranked guys may not get much better while the lower ranked guys could blossom in the next couple years. We never really know until they come up to the big leagues. People mature at different rates. I'm sure many of us remember the little guy in high school who ended up being 6'3" 225. Hopefully you didn't tease him.

I was just looking at the stats for some of the minor league teams. Bryce Eldridge stands out. I know it's only low A but he's only 19. His size (6'7" 230 lbs ) is perfect for a power hitting 3rd baseman. He has 9 HRs and hits left handed. He's a long way away but right now he looks like the type of player we've been hoping for. I noticed Marco played 2nd base since Ahmed is also rehabbing. I assume when Ahmed comes back Luciano will go back to short.

Nothing says you are committed to being a .500 team and missing the playoffs like starting Ahmed at SS.

Eldridge looks to be the player in the lower level of our farm system with the most star potential. Hopefully he continues to develop, but if he could be the centerpiece of a deal that would land us a legit star now, I would have no issue moving him.

Hopefully Ahmed is DFA'd.
Never knew about this guy. This is cool.

I'm not moving Eldridge unless it's a young star like a Soto when he was traded and had years left on his deal. I'm not moving Eldridge even for Vlad Jr and I like him, I really don't know who's available that I would trade him for. Anyone else can go for the right player
