You can't tell me last years roster was more talented than this years. That's not a ringing endorsement for Melvin.

lol same results. You can't judge Melvin on half a year when over half the lineup and pitching staff isn't what you thought it would be and half were players called up from AAA. That is dumb af. With the lineup you see on the field the last month, yeah this one on paper should be worse. And he had them in a WC spot last week before losing Wade and this 6 game slide.

https://www.sfgate.com/giants/article/bob-melvin-spring-training-rules-gabe-kapler-18693800.php

its easy to say these things but the reality is these players didnt get the job done either

i have no beef with kapler, he did the best with what he had which wasnt much.

I don't care what anyone says about Melivin, I think he's a good manager and the right one for this organization. I can't fault him 100% for the SD fiasco when I think that team is full of high egos playing for themselves and look they're still mediocre. Other than the team dropping like flies every month I blame Farhan for putting this team together and after all the years he's been here not being able to close the deal with high impact bats and a horrible development of the prospects/drafting. I don't think this team will get back to what we're accustomed to until ownership gets rid of Farhan and hires someone that knows what they're doing.

ughhh you see that above? Did 8 of 10 positions, both catchers, hit the IL last year before 1 June? lol

Maybe he's getting a bonus for the number of guys left in scoring position.
8 out of 10 spots, both catchers, on the IL before 1 June. Add Ray, Cobb on the IL to start, and Snell misses the first few weeks. You guys think that happened last year and Melvin should be compared to Kapler 60 days in? Is we f**king serious?

They were mediocre when healthy too, not sure if you remember that. Giants have been over .500 a total of 3 days in 2024 and that came in mid may during that 10-2 miracle run.
Ramos

I can't believe dummy farhan waited so long to bring him up
Ramos! Another HR.
Playing elite defense too

He looked like s**t under Kapler because he only played if a LH pitcher was up and it was less than 78 degrees, and even then he moved him around the lineup. Hard to look good given that b******t.
