He's starting to smack the ball. Which is encouraging.

Slater is another Giants player that's productive when healthy but he's always hurting. He's a good hitter against left handed pitching if he could just stop getting hurt.

Don't worry yaz and conforto are due some nagging injuries as well. Hopefully lee can stay healthy

Unfortunately this is why it's hard to feel confident for the upcoming season. With the exceptions of Chapman and Lee the rest of the team is the same cast we've seen for the last 2 or 3 seasons. Lot's of decent players that all seem to have trouble staying healthy. Pitching and defense are going to have to carry this team unless everyone manages to have a good year and stay on the field.

Couldn't do much better this offseason unfortunately , yea we still missing our buster posey in the line up, but our pitching is solid , maybe make a move for a big bat at trade deadline and see what happens, if you got pitching you always have a chance

It's spring training. Don't get too excited. The difference between spring training pitching and the regular season is dramatic. Luciano has started hitting but my question is will the Giants let him struggle as he learns in the majors or will they send him down after a couple of weeks. That's what they have done with most of their prospects. Up and down so much that they destroy their confidence. I still think he's better off starting in AAA where he can play every day. If he does well then they can bring him up during the season. He's another player that has to show he can stay healthy.

He needs to start in sac and work his way up, we all know a couple months from now when Ahmed is barely hitting .200 the door will be open for him to return.

He's got tremendous power but he's not very disciplined at the plate. That's why he needs more plate appearances. Maybe like a half season without injuries in AAA. That is unless they're willing to let him learn in the big leagues. Personally, I'm not against that since you can only learn so much in the minors. The nasty breaking pitches that they throw for strikes in the majors are what separates the men from the boys. In AAA they see more fastballs but pitchers at that level haven't perfected their breaking stuff. That's usually why they're at that level.

His walk rate is actually pretty solid.
Seeing Dusty Baker in the orange and black again is weird but cool lol.

Walks don't produce runs. Look at Brandon Belt. He always had a great on base percentage but he never drove in a lot of runs. He took too many walks with runners in scoring positin.

Luciano won't get paid to walk. With his power they're going to be looking for ribeyes. It's looking like they may go with his as the starter. If they do, let him play even if he struggles. Don't do the AAA elevator thing with him if he doesn't hit right away. Give him at least 6 weeks of starting every day. If he's really struggling then he may need to go to AAA.

You said he's not very disciplined at the plate. Seeing more pitches and taking walks is directly related to what you mentioned.
