We see other players who were drafted behind him who RIGHT NOW look like they would help this team much more than Wiseman has. Hopefully he learns as much from Dray and the coaches as possible because as amazing as his highs look right now, he looks lost a lot too.

Not a chance I would trade Wiseman for any other player in the draft. Obviously it was going to take a 19 year old center who played just 3 games in college longer than the others to get up to speed. But his long term upside is higher than any player in this draft in my opinion

I've been really impressed with Deni Avdija. It wasn't going to be easy playing with Westbrook, but Avdija looks legit. Good defender and excellent IQ on the offensive end.
I like him as well. If you remember I was in favor of trading with Chicago and getting Carter and either drafting Avdija or Halliburton. But as good as both players are I would still not deal Wiseman for either. I know his growing pains, especially on the defensive end, ae going to be tough to watch this year. But he is going to be pretty special when he gets some real experience under his belt

Agreed, especially when going back and reading the Wiseman vs Okongwu arguments. Not saying Onyeka won't pan out, but he just hasn't been available yet, unfortunately.

You and I may have been the only ones on the Wendell Carter/Deni Avdija bandwagon.

I dont disagree with any of that or any of your opinion on this John. I just hope that it doesnt take Wiseman 5 years to become close to a finished product. Steph is at the tail end of his prime, and waiting for a prospect to truly develop might not be the best thing for this team.

However, I am very encouraged by Wiseman and dont think I would trade him straight up for any prospect either. He will be a star. Just hoping its sooner than later.
Something that has been touched on briefly in here but is worth bringing up again....

Wiggins defense has been absolutely stellar this season. And he has been regularly guarding the other team's best player.

I think by this time next year Wiseman is going to just be SO much better. I also think having Klay back will open up a lot for him on offense and also help him on the defensive end. One thing the kid needs to is hit the weight room and get stronger. Once he does that he could be a force on the boards.

I just love the effort that Wiggins is making on the defensive end. I cant wait to see a starting lineup of Wiseman, Dray, Wiggins, Klay, and Steph. If we get lucky and get 2 1st rd picks next year and add a stretch 4 and a 3 point shooting wing we can be right back as true contenders.
One thing I feel about last night, Kerr deserves some criticism. I felt like Wiseman needed more minutes in the 4th quarter, I know he is a rookie but it was clear they had no real answer for him. Especially when Boucher fouled out.

Draymonds value. He predicted the play Raptors will run.

Right. Because you know basketball or his team more than Kerr.

You disagree? The team had a 15 point lead going into the 4th and were very lucky they didn't blow it.

Yes I do. Wiseman still looks lost on defense quite a bit and the Raptors are a team that depend on 3 point shooting and not a big man in the paint. But I am not going to second guess Kerr. He is bringing the kid along at a pace which he feels is right. I dont think anyone in here knows enough truly criticize his coaching.

I also disagree. Wiseman looked absolutely lost on defense. Saw Draymond get on him a couple times for misreading a switch.

Co-sign. Like I said before, Wiseman flashes a lot and gives me hope for the future. But he also looks lost a LOT. And that can be expected with how little he has played in the past couple years. He will be fine, but he absolutely needs to be benched when he gets overwhelmed (which unfortunately happens a lot).
Myles Turner gonna school James Wiseman tonight
What's the story on Jordan Poole? Haven't seen much of him these last few games.
