Baring a trade, dont think we'll move the needle as much as the Rockets and Nuggets have.

Talks of D Lillard and Horford or Chris Boucher... if true, we'll have the oldest starting team in the league

I'm having mixed feelings on JK, I don't really want him to move on unless......

Kumiga is athletic as they come but he's been in the Warriors organization for 4 years. He's still is trying to learn the fine points of the game. Maybe he's just a spot player that can come in and create excitement. Never going to be a player that makes everyone around him better.
Lol. Kuminga is 22 yrs old. He certainly has the ability to make people around him better. His ability to get to the rim can open things up for a team with great outside shooters. He just isnt a fit with Draymond and Butler and the Dubs who basically have 1 great shooter on the roster.

For perspective what makes a shooter "great"?

In order for Kuminga to make people around him better he has to be in the right place at the right time on defense and on offense. If he only gets to the rim on offense he's far less useful to the team.

I HOPE one of the newer coaches can get through to him and one of them can get through to Steve about playing the kids a lot more.
A great shooter will hit at least 40% on 3s, 50% overall. Consistently hit open 3s. Who does that on the Dubs other than Curry?

JK needs to become a much better shooter to become a great nba player but again... just 22. Lebron certainly wasn't a great outside shooter at 22. Shooting is the one part of the game that can improve through teaching and repetition.

All I know is they better not trade JK for someone like Monk. If he gets traded it should be for a rising star.

I'd trade JK for Keegan tho

way better fit

I would say a great shooter has to take more than 5 3s a game too, but even that leaves us with a not that shining a list of players who meet that threshold based on last year. And keep in mind that that 50/40 and 5 3PA does not include Curry last year.

Zach Lavine

That's it.

One of the issues with young guys who are good at driving learning a consistent jump shot is they often lose their elite drive game ... see LaVine, Zach among a LONG list of players. It saves their bodies to shoot jumpers, but it's often worse for the team overall when the threat of the drive goes away.

It's virtually impossible Kuminga will be traded for a "rising star".

And there is a reason that trade won't happen from the Kings.

It would depend on a package but could happen (maybe a first or something), but not likely.

Knowing the kings they will trade Keegan to some other teams for a package centered around 2nd round picks.

lmao, kings make s**t trades with rest of league and now want to play hardball with us
If Kuminga was a good fit with the Warriors they wouldn't be considering a trade. Kerr tried to use him several times last year but his inconsitent performance and lack of understanding their offense caused him to spend a lot of time on the bench. After 4 years he hasn't shown a lot of improvement. A trade may benefit him because he could land in place where his style is a better fit.

Yes, but unfortunately they will likely struggle to get "fair" compensation in any such trade. I had some hope that changes in the coaching staff might unlock him, but it doesn't appear so, at least not yet.

Might be able trade him for someone like Kris Dunn or Davion Mitchell ... but, in part because of the Warriors, 3&D wings are over valued these days.

My understanding is whatever JK gets from another team the Warriors would only be able to sign a player for half that amount. I'm not sure why this is the case but that's what I heard Marcus Thompson say.
If we're not going to get more than the Rando's you guys are talking about, keep his ass

Agree. And it's laughable to even suggest they would trade him for Davion Mitchell

To be clear it would have to be more than just Mitchell, but the Warriors need a defensive guard and Dunn and Mitchell are two of the best.

You are unlikely to get comparable "value" in return for Kuminga based on his potential. So yeah, if you want to "win" the trade then you can't really trade him.

I would keep him rather than trade him for pennies on the dollar.
Thank you Loon

Well, since there is no way the Warriors "win" the trade it will always be pennies on the dollar, it's just a question of how many pennies.

Realistically, if he isn't going to play much then he probably should be traded.

I would rather they somehow manage to fix him and he stays and dominates :)
The audio delay on this Warrior game is brutal
know it's summer league but jeez
