2016-2017 NBA FINALS: Cavs v. Warriors

Warriors not the only team setting records.

Last night Cavs 44 3-point attempts, Finals record.

Cavs 32 3-point misses. Finals record. Lol

I also didn't realize Irving went 0-7 from downtown. I thought he hit a few.

Just wanted to comment on Irving. He had what seemed like at least a half dozen of the greatest finishes I have seen all year ... by anyone. When it comes to finishing in traffic, against players that are all bigger, is nothing short of remarkable. And even though the shots look like prayers, you can't call them lucky becasue he does it over and over again.

Kyrie was trying to play hero ball two years in a row. Didn't work out for him this time.

As a result he bailed out the Warriors and Klay Thompson with his crazy looking turnaround 3 pointer that bricked. Not sure wth Klay was thinking there either.

This. It worked in game 7 in a tie game but not so much last night in a 1 point game. It happens

I feel like it's a bit more justified in a TIE game. or definitely with the lead. but when you're down by 1 with less than a minute left? come on man. at least give yourself a chance by taking a high-percentage shot/layup.

They compared his two shots (game 7 clincher last year vs game 3 clunker from last night) on espn

Last year: he accepted the high pick forcing Curry to switch on him, Curry couldn't contest as effectively as Klay and Kyrie made the dagger 3

Last night: Kylie waved off JR Smith for the high pick, choosing to take on Klay 1 on 1, Klay had a much better contest, shot fell short and Curry cleaned up the board

I suppose LeBrons boot to Iguadala's nuts was an accident.

The league should look into it

I have been told by Warrior haters for 12 months that kicking someone on a jumpshot follow through is NOT a natural shooting motion (even though I wholeheartedly disagree). So a flagrant should be given to Bron.

Lol yup. Funny to watch haters cry foul on s**t that goes on all game, every game.
Aside from being a Laker fan, part of the reason I haven't watched the finals this year is because it was obvious who was going to win it, and it wasn't going to be close, barring an injury to Curry or Durant. The media is bashing Lebron for being a choker and not taking over the game. I am sick of watching his team in the finals and I really hope he retires but I can't judge him on being a closer. He isn't the best scorer or passer. He is just really good at everything but his Finals win-loss record speaks for itself, Worst Ever after this blowout.

For all the Warrior fans, do you think it is good for the NBA if the Warriors keep dominating the league with their All Star Team against a watered down league that can't compete against them? Don't kid yourself by saying there's competition out there because there's not. If you sweep the playoffs (or lose one road game), that says a lot about the Warriors and the rest of the league. Every dynasty from the 1980-2000 Lakers, 90's Bulls had competition. The Warriors do not, having the top two "scorers" in the league and a tremendous support staff.

Like when the Lakers' all star teams (full of free agents) had to get past the legendary bibby/webber/divac combo. I remember that.

Blame the NBA not the warriors for this reality. Bring back hand checks, let people play defense....makes games more competitive....

they clearly panicked.

Yup

Game was over when KD hit that 3. The entire team deflated. Couldn't buy a bucket and then Durant did that to them.

and Kyrie, despite playing spectacular, made the worst decision in the end to seal his team's defeat.

Hillarious coming from a Lakers fan that got to enjoy Kobe-Shaq dominating the league after Shaq came as a free agent.

Also
  1. James record is not the worst finals record ever. The GREAT Jerry West was 1-8 in NBA FInals. Wouldnt you know this being a Lakers fan?

2) The Warriors do not have the top 2 scorers in the league. At least get your facts straight.

Every decade has had dominant teams. When the Warriors match the Celtics of the 60s , the Bulls of the 90s, and the Lakers in the 00s perhaps its time to worry.

Meh not going 2 for 1 or driving for the layup was the only real mistake. He had no choice but to play hero ball 1 on 1 because the entire team went cold. Wide open 3's were being missed. LeBron was missing layups. And Kyrie probably didn't drive because in the final 2 minutes there were complete muggings going on near the hoop with no calls being made (both ways, no complaining). Just saying if he drove he would have been hit by 3 dudes and hope a prayer off the glass would drop yet again. Just should have shot earlier, still would have been contested and the game result is probably the same.

Only 10 teams have won a championship in the last 28 years. Take out the last two years and it is 8 teams in 26 years. Plenty of dominant teams in just recent history (including your Lakers who had a playoff run with only 1 loss). And then take a looks at some of the numbers for the Bill Russell Celts for comparison.
