I was on the sidelines for the Utah game tonight and it was ridiculous how many calls were going against them. The Utah fans were throwing chicken at the refs. Lol

Call me whatever name in the book but I 100% think that the Pac-12 officiating is corrupt. With the tremendous amount of money on the line in the college game these days Washington needs to stay relevant to keep the Pac relevant and everybody knows it.Originally posted by JustinMT:Originally posted by Jiks:I'm so f**king sick of CFB's helmet to helmet rule.

With that said, even with GOAT refs Utah still would've only scored a whopping 7 points and still lost. I can't blame the refs for the loss in any way but that doesn't change the fact that these were some blatantly one sided calls in important parts of the game.
/Tin foil hat rant
PS what were you doing in SLC? Did you move there? I remember you saying something about it being a possibility.

Well, it looks like Helton is losing the team... this is bad, at this point, SC may end up last in the South....

Not for the non USC fans. I think he should be given an iron clad extension if things continue in this direction.![]()

For three seasons, people have been stating that the practices under Helton have been flat and non directional. TODAY, Helton finally stated that they need to practice differently and that they are not practicing with urgency...!
Now, now, I have to wonder if I root for SC to lose so Helton gets fired or win to half way enjoy a game. This sucks.

Yep, terrible time to be a fan and I get your feels right now.

In a perverse way, I kinda deserve this; acting like a complete ass hat after the Herm Edwards hire.
The fact that in order for this team to succeed is to basically coach themselves as the coaching staff is completely in over their head is disappointing. When I got to USC, It was right when they fired Hacket. And it was the same vibe. People's expectations were rock bottom and everyone basically resigned themselves to the fact that SC was done as a football program of significance.
And that was right off the heals of my undergrad (Fresno State) where Pat Hill was killing it and David Carr was the number one pick.

Herm wasn't a great NFL coach. But its been proven that that doesn't mean much for being able to coach in the NFL. In the NFL, there is a very high emphasis on being an X and O mastermind. Herm is a motivational leader. Motivational leaders work in college. Pete Carroll didn't win at USC because he outcoached people, he out recruited and out motivated people. Also left out in judging Herm is his coaching tree (to name a few, Pep Hamilton, Doug Marrone (Jax), and Jim Hostler).
So far, I'd give Herm a B-. Herm's accomplishments:
- Recruiting at end of last year (LB's Robertson & Butler, DBs Crosswell, Adams, Harrison, and OL Tucker). That's 3 starters and 3 backups that see significant time
- Hiring a good Defensive Coordinator and hiring Antonio Pierce
- Running more organized practices
- Having better composure
Things Herm has to prove
- Running an offense, and finding a good OC (I don't think Likens should be here long term
- Winning on the road
- Hauling in some big time recruits when its not at the last minute
I think for OC, he should look at Curtis Modkins. Yep the OC for our team under Chip Kelly, who also coached for Herm. Modkins has 12 years of college experience, and is a run-game specialist which I think is the direction Herm would prefer. Another option is John Donovan, quality control for Jacksonville (under Marrone, so there is a Herm connection). Donovan has 20 years of college experience, mostly under John Franklin (Vandy and Penn St) as well as under Chan Gailey (Georgia Tech).
