But the corners IMO aren't that great. So it's not surprising to me to see them get burned some one on one. They had some recent departures to the NFL from the secondary. I don't think the secondary is that good this year. So it's difficult to say how good AW is. But he sure looked great in that game. I was very impressed. He is somebody to keep an eye on for the next level. He appears to have the size and speed to play in the NFL someday.
A guy I really like from SDS is Juwan Washington, he looked damn good vs Stanford..I remember him backing up Penny but that's about it, didn't realize how good he is, he could open some eyes this year.
Juwan Washington is shifty and quick with real good vision. He is a pretty good RB. I expect him to have some success this year at least at the college level. But you have to keep in mind he is 5'7" 190 lbs. Rashaad Penny is 5'11" 220 lbs. So Penny is much bigger, taller, bigger frame, stronger and I think has much higher top end speed and explosiveness. I expect Washington to have some success this year. But he is nowhere near the NFL prospect that Rashaad Penny is. Penny went in the 1st round.
I could see Washington get drafted but I think it is more like middle to later rounds for him. He does have special teams value too and can do returns. But that also he is not as good as Penny at. He has some ability but his size and strength limitations will come into play for the NFL level. I definitely don't think he has the top end speed or explosiveness of Penny. Some of those 30 - 40 yard runs I saw yesterday with him would have ended up in the endzone with Penny.
