Classic Lebron.

Lebron haters always reaching lmao

Where's the reach? Nothing I said wasn't 100% factual.

it was silly. Every sport does exactly what happened last night for a major accomplishment. And it is a major accomplishment. He is the league's highest scorer and did it in 150 games less than Kareem. It has nothing to do with championships, his place on the all-time greats, etc. Jordan is the goat, but that doesn't mean what Lebron did isnt special. Same with Karl Malone, Dan Marino, Barkley, etc. Imagine if sports paused games to recognize a major accomplishment like a HR record being broken, the last year of a players career on retirment parade, Cal Ripken's streak, stolen base record broken, etc and the player had a mad face on and said nah, man. The team isn't great and we are losing. Don't recognize the accomplishment! lmao the player would be crucified for that.

Just admit you are biased because you don't like Lebron and move on. He doesn't have to be on your favorite player list...but a grown up can admit what he did across the body of his career was special in terms of scoring.
Congratulations to LeBron James. Unquestionably one of the top 5 players of all time.

Definitely not the greatest ever, but certainly a part of the conversation.

Pretty cool to have lived to see two of the greatest play throughout their careers.

I was around to see Kareem's later years, but by then he was past his prime.

Of course it was silly. And of course I don't like Lebron. I never hid that. But I respect how great he is. And I never once said what he did wasn't special. It's an amazing accomplishment. Lebron was one of the most hyped athletes of my lifetime, and he exceeded all hype. The all time scoring record is a hell of an accomplishment.

My post was just a shot at my buddy 4ml. But shot or not, it wasn't a reach haha.

Co-sign this entire post.
I saw Kareem as he was leaving an elevator and I was entering. What struck me was he had this air of humility. He moved like flowing water.
Lebron is Drew Brees. Nice numbers but you ain't the GOAT.

still to play this long and get this record is a pretty good accomplishment. Still much way better scorers in NBA history.

I think if you're a basketball fan - you absolutely enjoyed last night even if you're not a Lakers or Lebron fan. The most hallowed NBA record was broken after almost 40 years - which was seen as unbreakable by most ppl till 3-4 years ago. And, if Lebron stays healthy for next 2-3 years - it's a record that may not be broken ever.

If someone is a Lebron hater - I feel bad for them lol - he will be breaking the all time scoring record with every single bucket till he retires. He's gonna set more records - he's not done anytime soon barring a major injury.

He's the NBA's SCORING CHAMP. Not for 5 years or 10 years or 15 years - he's THE SCORING CHAMP.

Haha no shot at me. Lebron was +8 when on the court last night.

ehhh maybe. But what irritates some fans is that some already tried to put him in the all-time great conversation, and this will only make that noise much louder. But to some fans, having a long career and scoring a bunch isn't as important as championships. So to those fans, Lebron isn't up there with Jordan, Russell, etc. He's just a great basketball player who had a really long career but also fell short of expectations a lot in terms of championships. Especially considering he's played with some pretty great players.

I think the thing that I never understood is why people hate the dude. Other than "the decision" which was dumb, but really not his idea...still shouldn't have done it. He's been a great player, great dude, husband, father, etc. No scandals, etc. Maybe a little too much of throwing a fit, but that is common in sports now. Maybe if he would have done a couple of dunk competitions, etc. they would have liked him more. He had more talent than anyone I've seen for sure.

Dude was more worried about the record than winning the game. Try to win the game and if you break the record it's more rewarding.
I dont hate Lebron and recognize that is achievement is amazing. However, in no way will I ever consider him to be the GOAT. I dont care how many points he scores, he was never the dominant player on both sides of the court like MJ was. But I do consider him 2nd in the greatest of all time conversation just ahead of Kareem.

I think there are some similarities with Patrick Mahomes. I saw Montana, Young, Marino, Elway, Farve, Manning, Brady, Rodgers play...and I can confidently say Mahomes is the best player to ever quarterback. Now, he may or may not win as many championships - that is yet to be determined - but imo he's already in the all time great conversations. If he flames out and retires in 6 years - MAYBE then you can say his resume doesn't stack up but for now I def. believe he is in that conversation bc of his individual play.

I don't really care how many championships he wins bc I think Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers are 2 of the 5 greatest QBs to ever play and if they were playing with Bill Belichek or Walsh - they'd win 5+ championships. Now, if someone had a history of not performing well in playoffs - that's different but if you can win 1 then you can win more depending on your circumstances. Mahomes is that talented and imo there is nothing wrong with saying - he's in the conversation of all time great QBs. And, it's just my opinion - others may have a diff opinion but that's all it is.

I think hating a great player or hyping them is part of social media and 24 hour sports show. Also - I don't think both are same. Hating someone who is great at what they do is just weird to me. But, that's the society we live in. But, me personally - I just can't hate on greatness. I don't care if it's someone I like or don't like. If I enjoy a sport and someone is doing things no one else can or very few can - Im gonna sit back and enjoy it.

GOAT debates are for fun and smack talk. What it really is - who is your favorite or preferred player among the greatest players of all time. If someone thinks Jordan - Kareem or Wilt are the GOATs - I have no problem with it. I will argue with them if I have free time....but I can't imaging hating on any all time great player in any sport...or at least I hope I don't ever become that bitter.
