No way we contend with this rotation. Maybe if our starters can hold it down and turn it over to the bullpen but it's not looking good when projecting.

You never know. They did offer the most money to Jon Lester. I could see them being a player for one big name pitcher.
The top pitchers should look something like this
David Price, LP, 30
Jordan Zimmermann, RP, 29
Johnny Cueto, RP, 30
Jeff Samardzija, RP, 31
Doug Fister, RP, 32
Mat Latos, RP, 28
Hisashi Iwakuma, RP, 35
We can scratch Latos off of that list but I could see us making a run at Iwakuma and Shark (which I would love as a Notre Dame fan).
Samardzija already said the living cost in SF is too high, cross him off list as well

No doubt that it's time to make Petit a full time starter. Him and Vogey will hopefully switch roles as the season goes on.

Wow if that's what keeps him from coming to a winning organization like the Giants he deserves to rot away in south side of Chicago.

Dont want him anyway. Zimmerman would be my first choice. Price will cost too much and Cueto has too many injuries in his past to give a huge long term deal to. Anyway, thats for next year. For now.. there is no relief in the immediate future

Or... we might have a 4-0 lead if he had started instead of Vogey

Maybe but he also gave up 2 HRS, 6 hits and 4 walks in just over 4 innings. Petit looked great though didnt he?

Giants sign Kevin Correia to a minor league contract.
