The 2024-25 Phoenix Suns Thread

I know it's just preseason, and a terribly small sample size, but Suns averaging 40 points in the 1st quarter in the 3 games the projected starters have played in.

I'm not mad at the trade. I think they saw what Joker has been doing the last few years and saw a similar ability in Nurkic being able to distribute from the post, not to the degree of Joker, but he'll also be dishing it to Booker, KD and Beal. Our interior defense will take a hit. There's no doubting that. And Ayton was pretty good at switching out on perimeter players too. Not as good as he was two years ago, but still better than Nurkic. It's all gonna come down to how nuclear this offense can be. I think we'll score out as an average-to-above-average defensive team by season's end.
I liked it when CP3 hit that dagger 3 to cut the lead down, CLUTCHNESS.

I liked what I saw last night. Gonna take some time to get used to this team. Crazy that only Book and Okogie are still around from opening night last year. Okogie had a hell of a game.

Outside Book, Okogie and to a degree Nurkic, I didn't. KD decided he needed to take only high degree difficulty shots, spinning, fading one-leggers and whatnot, and it resulted in a s**tty shooting night. Gordon was even worse but did hit that timely 3 near the end of the game. Team looked lost in stretches, especially when Booker was resting. Getting Beal in the line-up will help, but this team didn't have great chemistry last night. They won on the back of Booker's brilliance and Okogie's hard work on the offensive glass. I suspect chemistry will be an issue for at least the first 10-20 games. Talent will carry us most nights.

I expected it to be worse honestly. This is damn near like an expansion team. New coach and 90% new roster missing one of the top 3 guys. Would of been a blowout if there was better chemistry which is what we need to see. Win on talent, build chemistry, championship?
KD cooking tonight without Bradley and Book. Team looking more cohesive than they did in the season opener against the Dubs.
KD went from cooking to being gassed. Too much hero ball in the 4th. Where was Okogie? Eric Gordon?

4th quarters are a serious problem. I think they'll continue to be until Book comes back, we can hopefully stay healthy, and this roster can finally start finding some chemistry. It's a mess right now.
Beal went from probable against the Wolves to out, to questionable against the Jazz to re-evaluated in 3 weeks. WTFMATE??

Decided to shut him down for awhile. Back issues tend to linger and linger and linger on. The best thing at this point is to give him a few weeks off and reevaluate.

I fear we traded for a guy that's breaking down. He hasn't played more than 60 games since the 18-19 season.

Booker doing the Knicks dirty with this floating, fading 3 for the win.
