Damn lol

"To tell the truth, I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to," Ichiro said through an interpreter. "If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face, because I'm lying."

Crazy - while the fans were chanting 'MVP'. These Mariners have the firepower to hang with anyone now.
I've never seen a throw that fast from right like that before. Wow.
What a punkass

Two crazy finishes so far - Dodgers on that walk-off error. And then Mariners outlasting the Tigers in 15 innings. Finally got to watch Skubal pitch an entire game. Dude reminds of me of Nikola Jokic with his stoic demeanor. He had one of the most dominant pitching performances in MLB playoff history. He struck out Cal Raleigh twice on 101 mph fastballs including his last pitch of the night, but it wasn't enough. Mariners made him throw 99 times through six so they had to pull him.
To the extent I am a baseball fan (I certainly was before the strike), I'm an A's fan.

That said, of the remaining teams the Mariners have never won anything so it would be cool to see them win a World Series.

Anybody but the Yankees (now out) or Dodgers (in the NLCS, again.)

Same

Honestly I'm cool with either AL team as it's been 32 years since the Blue Jays won the Pennant. But please let the Brewers oust the Dodgers.

A Brewers-Mariners series where we're guaranteed to get a first time champion franchise would be ideal. Haven't had that in the World Series since Phillies vs. Royals in 1980.

Agreed, and a fair point, if the Blue Jays did win the ALCS it is still nice to have a fresh team that hasn't won (or been) in 3+ decades make it.
Players caught up in gambling scheme.

The indictment details an alleged scheme that involves the pitchers purposely throwing balls so gamblers could bet on pitches being balls or strikes. It began as early as May 2023 with Clase, according to the indictment.

The allegations from prosecutors in the indictment include a specific incident on June 15, when Ortiz was paid $5K for throwing an intentional ball, and Clase received $5K for facilitating it. Co-conspirators won at least $400K on fraudulent wagers relating to Clase and at least $60K on fraudulent wagers relating to Ortiz, prosecutors allege in the indictment. Clase and Ortiz face up to 65 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

$5K doesn't seem worth it.
