In pool play, OT wins count less then wins in regulation.

USA beat Russia in OT (shootout) and Canada beat Finland in OT.

Sweden won all their games in regulation, and thus won the most pool play points.

Gotcha, thanks. I'd assume that the winner of the US/Canada game is still considered to be the favorite though, right?

In other news, curling is fascinating.

Most likely. But the Fins are playing good hockey.

In a one game format, anything can happen. Its both fun to watch and terrible (the 1 game elimination format). You have to do it for Olympics, but frankly, I do believe it means that "the best team" doesn't always win. Take Latvia, in a 7 game series, Canada would sweep 4-0 and blow them out in the 3 other games.

Finland has always been one of the best when it comes to playing like a team. They always look like they've been playing for years with each other, its because its a small country and the game is taught the same way in all parts of it. All the elite players play together growing up and are coached by basically the same people. Throw in the fact that Finland for whatever reason always produces some of the best goalies (seriously, as an NHL GM I'd probably draft a Finnish goalie once a year until I found my franchise goalie, lol).

However, the Fins lack offensive firepower and they lost 2 of their best offensive players. The Russians really beat themselves with defensive miscues (which everyone said was their weakness!!!) and Ovie being a little b***h.

Swedes are a complete unknown. They haven't been tested at all. I thought they were the favorites going into the tournament.

f**kin Swedes, so typical pic of them:

I'm annoyed that US got the Silver in 2-women bobsled. Had a decent lead after two heats...and just gave it away

Humphries had an amazing final 2 runs...gotta respect that but US had the Gold and they let it slip away. Just made too many mistakes on final two runs.
