I think about the only good thing about these Winter Olympics is the actual competition itself which is always the most important, but I've been hearing some critical reports about the quality of venues, accommodations, just the overall logistics of the events and sounding like they're not so hot. For example someone was reporting that for how new a lot of event facilities/venues are, they look sort of old and rundown when you get up close. Maybe I've been slightly misinformed but I'm getting the impression there's a lot of problems with this Olympic site that were swept under the rug. I believe Shaun White pulled out of an event. Was he injured or did he just think it sucked? I get the sense that years ago the Sochi committee must've blown smoke up the IOC's collective ass. Wouldn't be surprised to see them take a major financial loss.

I think white pulled out of slope style because the course was too crazy. A couple guys already hurt themselves in practice. Dude pulls some insane s**t on a snowboard. For him to back out says just how crazy the course was. lol

Okay thanks for the explanation. I saw a couple guys run the course and it looked like X-games on steroids. I wanna say the problem with some of the venues is they're still literally under construction 1 day from opening. That's what I had confused them with looking old or broken down LOL. But there are problems with accommodations for athletes/spectators to the games that have already been documented which are seriously lame.

He pulled out because he knows the Canadians are coming for him. We fielding a strong team this year and he wants to just concentrate on the half pipe. White is going down.

ding ding ding the 2 top canadians in that event straight up said he pulled out because he knows he cannot win and would rather not have to damage his rep by losing.

NBC isn't showing it live, so I guess they're showing it on primetime at 8:40 PM

Not really. He pulled out because he's kind of a p***y and didn't really have a shot at winning the event. He's a great halfpipe rider, but is way, way behind the curve in slopestyle. Probably a dozen guys in the world that are better than him, with 4 or 5 that are significantly better.
