In the Saric-Payton Jr., deal, Sixers also get back the first-round pick sent to Magic in Dwight Howard deal -- likely 2017, source said.

Makes a lot of sense for Orlando of course (they need a PG) but now Sixers just spent two top 10 lottery picks on guys that won't make an impact for them next season. (Btw, not bashing the Embiid pick, when he's healthy, sky is the limit). Tank 2014 coming up?
Of course the tank is on for 2014. But, they get to have Saric develop his game for 2 years in Europe, and get the guy who easily would have gone #1 if healthy. They are drafting big men with upside. Next year they should get a top 3-4 pick again. I actually like it for the team long term

Well yes. I wouldnt want to have to watch them next year. But, the goal is to draft to get a team that can be a title contender. They made picks with huge upside and we tank for next year too.

David Stern should take some pointers from A Sliver. that's how you win over players and fans.
