Yeah, he kind of sticks out like a sore thumb lol. I guess they really wanted to roll with 4 big men. They're gonna need them against Spain to handle the Gasol brothers and Ibaka.

Physical beast

White chocolate, plus the Coach K / Duke connection.

Not a big Plums fan but this is true. I guess I'm just more disappointed Lillard didn't make it. There's so many beast guards so it was inevitable one of them would get snubbed but I was hoping he'd squeeze in, especially if Rose needs more rest during the tournament. Oh well. Very happy both Cousins and Drummond made it.
@KBergCBS: Cavs, Wolves and Sixers on trade call now with league office to finalize Kevin Love-Andrew Wiggins deal, league source says.

It's official.

@WojYahooNBA: Cleveland, Minnesota and Philadelphia have completed NBA trade call, source tells Yahoo. Kevin Love has joined LeBron James with the Cavs.

@WindhorstESPN: Cavs, Wolves, 76ers have completed Kevin Love trade officially. As part of deal Wolves will receive 6.3M trade exception.

Man, what a perfect storm for Minnesota. The vast majority of the time, a team with a top pick has no incentive to trade it for an established star, because that established star is going to be making considerably more money AND won't change their championship fortunes. Cleveland's one of the very, very few situations where it makes sense for them to try to "win now" despite having the #1 pick in the draft.
Timberwolves have a great core to build around

Wiggins
Bennett

Plus they have vets like Rubio, Young, Martin, Brewer, Pekovic, and Barea that can help mentor the players. This team is going to be fun to watch.

2 are completely unproven and 1 had one of the worst rookie seasons ever for a #1 overall pick. I wouldn't get to excited just yet.

It's much better than playing one season with Love just to miss the playoffs, then for him to bounce I say. At least now they have some pieces to build with. Two of those being first picks. I think Bennett's going to be pretty good down the road. He may not have been 1st pick worthy but definitely lottery material. He played very well, and looked a lot more confident in summer league.

Bennett was coming back from surgery and fat. He's a lot better now. He won't be a star but you can never go wrong with a solid role player.
The Timberwolves made out like Bandits IMO. I absolutely can't believe they got that much for a guy with 1 year left on his deal that made it known he wanted to leave. The Cavs panicked a little IMO to try to win this year. They could have had Kevin Love and kept Wiggins for a Big 4 if they just waited until next year. Love made it clear his first choice was to play with Lebron. So I think he would go there anyway. Wiggins would be on a 4 year rookie scale contract. They really could have had all that. That was the more prudent move IMO. If they win this year maybe it makes sense. If not they maybe gave up too much.

They must win a title in the next two years to justify this trade. I say two years because teams/players usually have to learn how to deal with a tough loss in the playoffs before they can win it all and outside of Lebron...none of the major players have even played in the playoffs.

Anyway...should be fun to see this team on offense.
