it was a surprise signing IMO. they already have a glut of guards with Devin Harris, Jose Calderon, and the rooks they drafted.
one of the Dallas articles says they'd like to pair Calderon, Monta, and Dirk together on the floor. huge defensive liability.

Both are inefficient scorers who have defensive shortcomings. Not a Monta fan, but I do think he's better than Mayo.

But really no, I actually agree with you that this off season is more of a circus show resembling the Lakers when they went old. The only thing they haven't signed is an elephant.
I'll be happy with 2 competitive rounds in the playoffs.
