Stoney, how'd you become a Laker fan? I have a buddy who is originally from Oakland and he's a 49ers/A's/Lakers fan. When he was a kid the Raiders moved to LA so he became a 49ers fan, he's always been an A's fan and he just liked Magic Johnson and Showtime when he was growing up so he liked the Lakers. Is it similar for you? Seems like Showtime might be a tad before your time, I just barely remember the end of it. (I think you and I are close in age).. maybe not though. I think if the Kings never come to Sac from KC I may be a Lakers fan right now... probably Warriors though. My first Basketball memories was Lakers/Celtics and the Kings arriving in Sacramento, So I jumped on the Kings.

Anyways, best of luck to both squads. Will be a tough one for the kings, but I hope it's just a good game!

My big brother was a Magic fan from his college years and followed him to the Lakers. I'm a fan of the Lakers because my brother said so. I'm 35, so I remember showtime very well. To this day, Magic is still my favorite basketball player of all time.
In fact, I'm a fan of all my teams because my big brother said so.

Looking forward to the Cousins/Bynum matchup. While i hate Salmons, he actually doesn't play terrible when defending Kobe so that will be a key matchup. I think Pau is going to have a big game, unless Hayes can get back to form. Although he's not 100%, so he may not be back to form until next year. IT should be able to abuse D Fish.

versus the kings who will do what, at all?
The difference is, we know we aren't doing anything. We don't go around talking s**t like we're all that, making fun of other teams franchises. We will stay loyal no matter what, unlike most bandwagon lakers fans. Truth of the matter is though, the Lakers won't make it out of the first round, barring a big trade. This is one of their worst teams in a while.
With that said, yes playoffs are better than no playoffs, but there's no validation to going around being a jackass when your team really isn't all that good either.

Magic, but they're 2 totally different types of players. Kobe is a better scorer, but Magic was un-f**king-believable.

Ah, you got two years on me, so those were the prime Showtime years you were checking out. By the time I started understanding s**t fully it was like Pistons/Lakers.
Anyway, I hope DeMarcus has a good game tonight and watch out for Isiah Thomas.

It's true. I'm as big a Kobe fan as any laker fan, but Magic was insane. The things he could do with the ball were amazing. Not to mention the fact that he stepped in and played Center in the Finals and balled his ass off. And he made everybody around him better. Kobe does that too, but not like Magic. Nobody could do what Magic did. In the words of Jim Harbaugh: "NOBODY!!!"

NO GUYS DON'T WATCH OUT FOR ISIAH THOMAS. WE WANT HIM TO SCORE A LOT OF POINTS AND IT WILL BE MORE DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO DO THAT IF YOU GUYS ARE PAYING GOOD ATTENTION TO HIM.

Psshh. He's a PG. It doesn't matter if the whole team is watching out for him, he's gonna go off on the Lakers.
