A lot of cerebral players in that lineup...Phil woulda loved it...

He's objective though. It's not like he picked Boston to go 66-0. I think he predicted the 6 seed for them, even though most people probably peg them as a top-3 seed.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. The Lakers could be the top seed in the West, could be the top seed in the entire NBA, and could cruise to their 3rd title in 4 years.

Sure, but my main point was that if they finished as a top-3 seed in the West, that would be more than just "good." Also, fine, replace "could" with "realistically could." So for example, the Wizards "could" win the NBA Finals this year, but you wouldn't say they "realistically could." But all those teams "realistically could" be better than the Lakers.

I'm really not sure. Do to the new coach, new system, roster changes, and shortened offseason/preseason, it's hard to make an accurate prediction. I see them on the top side of the west, and making a decent run in the playoffs. And with Kobe leading the way, anything is possible. I do feel, without a doubt, that the roster the Lakers open the season with will not be the one the end with. There are changes coming, possibly major ones.

Huh? I'M saying if they give up both of them for Howard it makes them worse, not ESPN. And any change they make might make them better, might make them worse. Trades are usually relatively even. I don't see a Pau Gasol donation on the horizon this year. Miami's not gonna call up Kupchak offering LBJ for Luke Walton.
