These guys look old and injured. If they get the #3 or #4 seed in the west that is good.

A self proclaimed Laker Hater makes a less than favorable prognostication!? Color me shocked!
I know you haters like to unite, but let's not get too crazy. While I doubt the Lakers win a title, they still have a lot of talent. But this is a futile discussion no matter what, as your purpose is clearly to rouse Laker fans.

So what? It's one guy's opinion. No one on earth picked the Niners to do this well. It's a pointless discussion; just a passive way for you to say you think we'll suck this year.

All I was saying was that if the Lakers wound up the 3 seed in the West, that would be more than just "good." That would mean that between OKC, Dallas, and LAC, that they'd be better than at least 1 of them. Which would be miraculous. Teams like Memphis, San Antonio, Denver, and Portland could easily be better also.

See what saying could can do?

Sure, but my main point was that if they finished as a top-3 seed in the West, that would be more than just "good." Also, fine, replace "could" with "realistically could." So for example, the Wizards "could" win the NBA Finals this year, but you wouldn't say they "realistically could." But all those teams "realistically could" be better than the Lakers.

They could also "realistically not" be better than the Lakers. They lost Odom, and got stronger with better role players off the bench. Once they get the new system in place and rolling, they "realistically" could be one of the better teams in the association. To deny that is "realistically" just being a blind hater.

What's your prediction for the Lakers this year?

I'm really not sure. Do to the new coach, new system, roster changes, and shortened offseason/preseason, it's hard to make an accurate prediction. I see them on the top side of the west, and making a decent run in the playoffs. And with Kobe leading the way, anything is possible. I do feel, without a doubt, that the roster the Lakers open the season with will not be the one the end with. There are changes coming, possibly major ones.

That doesn't mean the changes will make the team better. For instance, let's say they trade Gasol and Bynum for Howard, I think that makes them worse.
