2011 St. Louis Cardinals Thread

now, if you win..you know what next year means right?

2010 - giants
2011 - cardinals
2012- giants
2013 - ????

lets keep owning the NL brah

Me personally I will have to root for the Reds to win the Central as long as Dusty Baker is the manager. I know when it comes to playoffs Dusty will find a way to choke away a playoff series and I'm hoping the Giants can square up against Dusty again in the playoffs.

In all due seriousness I think St Louis has a great team going into next year. I think Matheny will end up being a very good manager. The biggest thing you will have to address is to figure out how to at least get one left handed batter in the middle of the line up. Your line up was very right handed dominant and I think Cards should try to figure out how to balance that line up better.

A smaller scale I think your team would benefit by having a second left handed specialist reliever coming out from your bullpen

First off, I appreciate your comments.

Secondly, to answer your two question marks....that LH hitter in the middle of the lineup was supposed to be Lance Berkman. Guy killed it last year. This year made it seem hard to believe he was even on the roster. Regarding the LH specialist..I'm STILL not 100% set on Marc Rzepczynski (or as we like to call him in St. Louis, "Scrabble")...but I think he will be on the 2013 roster as well as a guy who made a few key appearances last year. His name is Sam Freeman. He will eventually take over our LH pitching role.

If you squint a little, the Cards cap logo looks like a Japanese symbol.

With Posey winning the MVP, the Hank Aaron Award, the Silver Slugger, Comeback POY, and another WS ring, its good that Yadier still got something for his efforts in 2012.

#StlCards batting coach Mark McGwire heading to #Dodgers for same job. Cards were 4th in #MLB in batting and 1 in OBP.

At least you can talk about the Giants/roids thing now and not get it shot back in your face.

Thats really weird. Either STL told him "go ahead, we kinda want someone else anyways", or LA said "hey Mark, how about we double that salary?"

On the bright side for Giants fans, we can now direct steroid jokes at the Dodgers.
