NBA Finals Thread: Mavs are NBA Champions! :O

The thing I liked most about this finals is that the "team" won. Not an assembled group of superstars surrounded by a few role players, but a whole team of guys who all fit together in their roles. I loved watching guys like Brian "The Janitor" Cardinal fit a perfect niche and give positive minutes. The Heat will certainly have more opportunities to win a championship, they're just too talented not too, but they need to be humbled first. Their arrogance in their abilities lost out to a team that had a better idea of what it takes to win and that was a satisfying sight to see.

I also gained a ton of respect for Rick Carlisle.

No, because Cuban didn't want to pay him.

This, Nash didn't want out but Cuban didn't wanna pay him AND Dirk so he went with the big man. For a couple of seasons it looked as if he made a mistake as Nash racked up a few MVPs but all is awash and Cuban in the end made the right decision.

Although if Cuban kept them both they probably would have won a championship sooner

Lol, give it time. I still guarantee you they win at least 3-4 rings, unless D12, CP3, Durant, and Dirk all decide to play together or something like that hahah. Wade and LBJ are still great, they do have some serious holes on their team though that they should fill over time.

You have a team with two players that control the ball the vast majority of the time, and the other guys stand around waiting for the catch-and-shoot scraps...and the offense isn't all that effective? Imagine that.

The team that won the NBA title this year had DeShawn Stevenson, JJ Barea, Ian Mahinmi, & Brian Cardinal getting rotational minutes...but MIAMI's roster has holes? It's not like LeBron balled his ass off and the team around him came up short.

That was a below average offense during the playoffs, and their offense will always be exactly that as long as they dribble and chew up clock the way that they do. The difference in ball movement in this series was STAGGERING, and the way that LeBron & Wade play are the main reasons why.

They're gonna win a couple of titles, but it's going to be because of their team defense.

Not only did LeBron watch the Mavericks win the NBA Championship tonight, but Rashard Lewis is likely f**king his girlfriend as we speak.

Their offense would be more effective if LeBron got better as a shooter, moving without the ball, and developed a post game.

Wow. Now he is using God as an excuse? What it boils down to is that when you are playing ball its your team vs the other team and nobody can really help you, God or no God, if you're not going to be aggressive or win the game. God can't make him shoot the ball more or make free throws, that's his own deal. I feel kind of bad for him but oh well. He just isnt aggressive enough, that MJ or Kobe type aggressiveness is what he doesnt have. He might as well be Scottie Pippen on roids.

I dunno man, he is basically saying they didnt win because god decided it wasnt their time to win. But he could've been more aggressive and made more shots, he just wasnt and didn't.
