Carlos Beltran Trade Talks Picking Up: Oakland A's Could Use His Bat in Lineup

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/700948-carlos-beltran-trade-talk-picking-up-oakland-as-could-use-his-bat-in-lineup?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=br_mlb

as a Beltran fantasy owner, i REALLY hope he gets traded somewhere with a good lineup around him. not a place where their offense is so lame the crowd has a designated spot called "Matsui-land" in the right field seats...

The Mets offense and park isn't a whole lot better. If you add in a solid bat like Beltran, everyone in the lineup gets better. Willmingham and Matsui don't feel like they have to carry the team which is really causing them to struggle I think. If we can land someone like him and an upgrade at 3rd we would be a much improved team.

whens the last time Billy Beane traded FOR a big name player midseason?

and hitting around Jose Reyes, David Wright, Ike Davis, and Jason Bay is alot different than the guys in Oakland's lineup. the Mets offense hasnt been bad this year. middle of the pack, but not bad. the A's are bottom 5 range in runs, hr, and team avg. so are the Giants, im not talking crap, im just saying id rather see Beltran traded elsewhere.

Jason Bay is washed up. I had forgotten about Davis though as he was on the DL when I looked at the roster so I'll concede that. Coco Crisp is pretty good, and Barton gets on base a ton so Beltran is still going to get some RBI opportunities. The bottom third of our order is just absolutely wretched though.

Jason Bay is no more washed up than Hideki Matsui, who is arguably your best hitter...
Monster win last night. Let's hope they can steamroll the Twins and then carry that momentum in AT&T Park.
Good to see Ellis bust out of his slump. Gotta love the way that he plays the game. Dude may not be a great player, but he's always been fairly solid. I mean, we all know how impressive his glove is.

A's are legit. They will win the West.

I somehow doubt they are leading the AL West if Nelson Cruz and Josh Hamilton are playing everyday and Feliz hadnt spent time on the DL as well. Texas is still the best team in that division although there is no doubt that the A's and Angels do have better pitching.
We will never win 3 straight

The A's just can't get over the two games over .500 hump.

I agree. Unless we somehow grab a consistent bat (or 2) to plug into the 3 or 4 hole, we're gonna eventually get outslugged by Texas. Our pitching is great, but we gotta start scoring more than 3 runs a game. Matsui is a 5 or 6 hole guy at best. Willingham...?

I'd expect guys like Crisp, DeJesus, Ellis to heat up soon.
Ross down after 1 batter and purcey is pitching... f**k

Oblique strain...no bueno.
f**k. That's all I have to say about that.

Oblique strain he'll be out 4-6 weeks. Outman probably needs another month or two to round back into form after his TJ surgery in 09.

He's looking pretty good so far in Sac.

Not really. His last start was encouraging as he went 7 and only allowed 3 walks but he's struggling mightily with his command which they say is the last thing to come back after TJ surgery. He needs a little more time.
