I would say both
I don't expect the Stars to make a run at the Pacific division or anything, but I think they will be a lot better than most people are saying. Most "expert" analysis is since we lost Brad Richards then we are automatically a worse team and will not make the playoffs. However, they are not looking at it like we lost 1 $8 million dollar player and replaced him with 6 role players that can provide different elements on this team. Additions like Ryder, Souray, Fiddler, Dvorak, Dowell, and Pardy (IR) are definetely not "sexy" players but they will give this team some depth. Depth is what we have been missing for the last few years. Not saying we are going to be a great team fighting for the President's Trophy, but I think the Stars will be a tough team to play against night in and night out, and will be able to suprise some teams.
And of course im excited that it's hockey season again as well.
