I guarantee you that Pete isnt old enough to have watched Maravich or Barry play. Is there really old film around to watch from their glory years? Whats the best play to get that?
I did mean that towards Marshall.
But I do know Pete's dad loved "Nate The Great", so he has all the 'cred he'll ever need w/me.
As for me, I remember as a 'lil kid watching "that funny Barry-guy" shoot underhanded free throws while sitting w/my Dad & Uncles in the family's seats.

Yeah, my opinion on Maravich & Barry is based off of what I have seen of them. I've watched as much ESPN Classic & YouTube videos as possible on most of the greats, but that only goes so far.

Well... I think you are quite accurate. I'm not sure the younger generation in here really appreciate how great Rick Barry and Pete Maravich really were. Incredible shooters and play makers. Two of my favorite players of all time.
Ray Allen and Reggie Miller are the best shooters I've had the pleasure of watching. They're also two of my absolute favorite players ('90s Bulls and Post-Jordan Kings players aside). Kerr wasn't too shabby either ;)
I started paying attention to the NBA when Jordan and the Bulls beat the Suns... so I can't really comment on players before that time.
I could care less about form. 3 point percentages from anyone prior to the 90s means dick to me since 3s weren't as much a part of the game. Bird was the best I ever saw at putting the ball in the basket from anywhere. Had he played in the era where the 3 was more dominant I have no doubt he would have practiced it more and led the league every year. Best all around shooter I ever saw.
Jordan was the best at hitting contested shots and clutch, championship winning shots. Everyone else on the list in on a lower tier.
Also, Reggie Miller is one of the most overrated palyers of all time because of one 1:30 sequence on the so called biggest stage, the Mecca, for a franchise that has all of 1 championship. The only thing more overrated than Miller is the Knicks history.

Nice! I agree 100%. Saying that Larry Bird had bad form is just a joke. How can it be bad form when the ball always goes in? Who decided it is bad form? The experts in here? Larry Bird was the best shooter I ever saw putting the ball in the hoop from anywhere on the court.
