The ump should absolutely not lose his job over that - worse calls have been made, and do get made on a nearly daily basis.

I actually agree with sixth, that play was closer than people are making it out to be, and blown calls happen all the time, tough look for Galarraga. Don't get me wrong, he's a fellow Venezuelan I would have loved it if it happened, but this is getting blown out of proportion QUICK

Lol, exactly. You're nuts Sixth/vrabbit..that play wasn't even close...at all.
Just trying to see it through the eyes of the ump, who does not have the benefit of instant replay, that everyone who will criticize him from now 'til eternity has.
If anyone deserves blame, it's the MLB itself, and their denial to allow more use of instant replay for situations just like this one.
