3 blocks in one game. Boozer had 36 last season.

I know alot of people think this is desperation I just don't see a better offer coming. Next year's free agent class blows chunks. We would basically be praying that Memphis let's Gasol go, and frankly it's not happening he's restricted. This is a move that we had to make. We all know we needed to upgrade the front court, and I don't see a better way.
This seals the deal on Matthews though. With the Jeffersen trade we're going to be in the luxury tax as is.

Yea this a tough one to call. Jefferson puts up good numbers but has ever translated to wins anywhere he has been. Then he has knee problems and seems to constantly be hurt. Guess you have to take a chance but even with him at 100% this move doesn't really elevate the Jazz.

From Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports: "Wolves to trade Jefferson to Jazz for future first-round pick, first-round pick from Memphis in Ronnie Brewer trade and a trade exception, Yahoo! Sports has learned."
thats what you guys gave us for Al Jefferson

I wonder what the protection is going to be on our pick. That Memphis pick really isn't sh*t. It's lottery protected this year and the best it gets is pick #10 after that. They're a decent young team so it's possible that Minnesota sees that pick, but it's no guarantee.

I love this move. He'll probably start at center for us, but I can see him spending some time at the 4 as well. He's still young, aside from one injury he hasn't missed much time, and at his best he can be an all-star.
He might even elevate his game now that he's on a playoff caliber team

I don't think we're done making moves yet. I'm really hoping for Shannon Brown and/or Ronnie Brewer.

I'd be content if we got those two. Nothing great but at least we'd have a back up combo PG/SG, a great backup defender SG, and a starting Center that can get 20/10 and 2 blocks any given night. Hopefully if Brewer signs Deron will be happy enough with us not to opt out next year.

He can't opt out until after the 11-12 season. We still have 2 seasons left to get this to a top tier team.
I really think we're going to cash in with AK's deal. Either by trading him before the deadline or getting him to do a sign and trade similiar to Boozer either way we're going to need another piece.

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has acquired center/forward Al Jefferson from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for center Kosta Koufos, the Memphis Grizzlies’ protected 2011 first-round pick (obtained by the Jazz a previous trade) and an additional future protected first-round pick.

LMAO Too bad Deron being Ronnie's best friend will have him come back to Utah or at least hopefully. KOC said that theres a couple of deals almost done that should be announced in the next couple days.
