There are still several HOFers available, whatever that's worth.

You should have taken one instead of Dino Radja.

I'd rather pick better basketball players.

Then why did you take Dino Radja????????

Because he was a better basketball player than any of the Hall of Famers that are on the board.

Nope. Only in your mind he was.

None of those guys would even make an NBA roster today, John.

Pete. We discussed this earlier. I didnt try to take some modern day player who might be ranked 150 in the game today. I went after the stars of the game. I believe my roster has as much depth and as many stars as any team. Macaluley may not be a star today but he was a star and HOF and as I have said now several times 53rd ALL time in PER. So... we will see how it shakes out. Anyway, he is my 15th and last player so not too concerned.

That's fine, but don't mock me for not having the same philosophy.

I think Bill Simmons said it best in his book. Before the shot-clock in 1954, there were just a whole era of lumbering, unathletic players.

1954, IMO is where we can begin to analyze players, because it was then that the influx of athleticism began.

I think I could have played in the NBA before the shot clock. I'm both slow and white. I'm also taller than most people.

Fine.. I didnt think taking some guy who played in the NBA for 3 years and has been forgotten by anyone not named Pete made sense to take for an All Time team. You do. Mock you? LOL Hardly

Oh, and John would have drafted me in the 12th round.

Ed Macauley's greatest accomplishment was being traded for Bill Russell.

I would say his greatest accomplishment is being an NBA HAll of Famer. However, your point is well taken. He must have been damn good to be traded for Bill Russell who lead USF to 2 NCAA titles.

This particular draft is based off of a player's best season. Radja's best season was 20/10/1.5/50%, which are numbers that McCauley never achieved and in an era with much, much, much more talent, and Radja was more skilled.

But Macauley made the HOF because pretty much everybody that was any good in that era made it. There are 12 Hall of Famers in that video I posted.

.

Dino only played more than 66 games one year. We just have a different philosophy I guess. I would never take a guy who really just played 1 full year to be on an ALL TIME team

It doesn't work like that. Wilt was once traded for Paul Neumann, Connie Dierking, Lee Shaffer.

I don't look at everyone from yesteryear and automatically assume they can't play in the modern era like some people do.

For instance stars like Arizin and Dolph Schayes are legit, IMO, because they succeeded after the shot clock, when teams started running up and down the floor, playing at a faster tempo than the current Golden State Warriors.

But Ed McCauley was a rail-thin post player who never made an All-NBA team after the shot clock was put in place.

Dolph Schayes in the modern era would look like...Danny Schayes.

Yeah, they were running up and down the court, but against who? That's why Wilt was so dominant. He was ahead of his time, which is why he put up such ungodly numbers.
