I cant be the only one doing this, right?

I'm not sure but thats an awesome way to go about it.

I pick in one more!
Hypothetical game...

I only get players that played at least 5 years with the Lakers. (exception made for Gasol, because he will get there)

You get everyone else in NBA history.

Who wins?

Lakers:

PG: Magic Johnson/Jerry West
SG: Kobe Bryant/Jamaal Wilkes (West would back up both spots)
SF: Elgin Baylor/James Worthy
PF: Wilt Chamberlain/Pau Gasol
C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar/Shaquille O'Neal

League:

PG: John Stockton/Isiah Thomas
SG: Michael Jordan/George Gervin
SF: Larry Bird/Julius Erving/LeBron James (or whatever order you prefer)
PF: Tim Duncan/Karl Malone
C: Hakeem Olajuwon/Bill Russell

Sounds more like you're figuratively grabbing names out of a hat than literally doing so.

I thought Double A was a great pick here, despite my Suns homerism- anyone capable of putting up a 47-18-12 3Dub in a game has got to have some serious skill. Interestingly, and much like Terry Cummings, his best statistical year was his rookie campaign when he helped lead the team to the NBA Finals against the Celtics.

The rest of the NBA requests Wilt Chamberlain from the Sixers and/or Warriors, as he was not a PF.

and, BTW, are you inferring that Pau is the best PF in Lakers history by putting him there as backup to Wilt?

Well, what I'd do is I'd compile a list of names, write each name on a different word document and then put each one of those documents in a different space (i have a Mac so yeah) and then just close my eyes and rumble through the spaces and then stop at a random one and bam, there you go...lol, that is the process to the madness

But GOD DAMN at anyone who puts up a 47-18-12 statline...good lord...Im slightly more satisfied with my pick now lol

Damn thats a hard one. As much as I love my Lakers, the thought of JORDAN BIRD and OLAJUWON is ridculous.

I miss great Centers.....

I think Jordan and the small forwards would tilt it towards the rest of the NBA. But that's still a damn impressive Laker roster, and it would be close.

Actually...yeah, he probably is, just by process of elimination. Baylor played a lot of PF in his day, but he was way to short to play it in the modern era. That's one spot that the Lakers have never had a truly great player.
