The Official Thread for the 09-10 Phoenix Suns (54-28)

Preseason opens up tomorrow, and the first 2 are of note - We open up the preseason against Partizan Belgrade (What? Yeah, never heard of them either). The next game we play is an outdoor exhibition at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. I guess last year's stellar shooting display in outdoor conditions warranted yet another go of it this season.

As far as the team is concerned, we're not contenders anymore, but this should still be an exciting team to watch. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how Earl Clark is capable of playing - this is a guy that slipped in the draft because teams had doubts about his on court intensity, but the talent is definitely there. If he can put it all together, he'll make a lot of teams regret passing him up.

Lopez to have surgery on broken foot

PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns center Robin Lopez will have surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

Lopez broke his fifth metatarsal -- the long bone on the outside of his foot that connects to the little toe -- in the second half of the team's intrasquad scrimmage Saturday in San Diego.

Team officials say the procedure to insert a screw in Lopez's foot will be performed Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Lopez, picked 15th by the Suns in 2008, averaged 3 points and 2 rebounds in 60 games as a rookie last season.
What are you expecting out of Nash this season?

The same thing that's expected out of him every season: spectacular shooting percentages, 9-10 assists, pick n' roll with Amare, and underwhelming defense.

Brook and Robin? 0 for 2. Those parents should be shot. Or at least severely beaten.

well at least Amare keeps himself fit....
I wonder if Z will actually show up in here, this year. He seemed to vanish when the relevancy of the suns did.

Yeah, they better be. Stupid SOB cost me any chance in fantasy last year because he stopped wearing the goggles. Who the hell has a major eye injury and stops wearing the goggles because they're uncomfortable?

Im still here homey, supporting my team.

As for the Suns, it's been a relatively quiet offseason. Im excited to see the up tempo approach that D'Antoni instilled in this team. I have a feeling that we're going to "test" this roster in the beginning, and then try to trade based on our needs during the season. Either way, I expect the Suns to win the division this year.
