Seriously... great fight.

Roach really did a number on Chavez.

I was really interested to see what roach could get out of him. Hopefully we can finally see his potential away from the Chavez clan.

I think this is the beginning, man. Seriously... not trying to be a homer or anything. I mean, I don't think he'll have the career his pops had... obviously, but it's definitely looking promising right now... and this is only after a 5 week training camp with Freddie Roach.

It definitely beat the Fedor/Werdum fight tenfold.

Of course he wont be like his dad and I think early on in his carrer he was trying to be just like him. If Freddy takes over as a amnager and trainer 100% without the family influense, I think he can take his carrer far.
Haha... I guess the Pac-man convinced little Chavez to go train with Roach and Ariza... according to Arum

Maybe he needs bigger sparring partners to get him ready for the middleweight division. Nice win by Chavez.

I didn't pay attention to the first 3 or 4 rounds (I was watching the Fedor fight) but supposedly he was implementing Roach's plan... apparently he went back to his roots after that though and took the fight to Duddy on the inside. But he looked much better, he was landing jabs, hooks, uppercuts, etc... and he went all 12 rounds without letting up. Usually he gasses out in the 2nd half of fights but he looked good in the late rounds tonight.

Duddy is a B-fighter at best, but even B-fighters gave Chavez problems. Tonight he dominated Duddy though, Duddy had his moments but they were few and far between.

I'm very excited to see what Roach can do with him.

According to Arum he's gonna try to get him a shot at Cotto at Jr. Middle for his belt, so he won't have to worry about that for a little while for now.

Edit: Haha I misunderstood ur comment. Lol, maybe you're right.

Chavez jr always had the talent but never the commitment. He is a technician that sets up his punches and usually works the body to first to set up the hook and uppercut. The only problem is that he is never in shape and after the first couple of rounds he gets tired and you can easily tell. The only thing im not sure he has is a good chin to take a good shot since he hasn't been put with the best fighters yet.
My cousin in law's next fight will be July 17th at the Pala casino. I am not sure if it will be televized. I will get more info as the fight approaches.
Chavez Jr is talented.

The problem with talent, though....

is motivation.
Juanma Lopez vs. Concepcion, Donaire vs. Marquez this Saturday on Sho. Hope fully this sets up Donaire vs. Juanma sometime soon.
Rafa Marquez? Didn't he fight Izzy like a month ago? i wouldn't write Donaire's name under the W column just yet, Rafa's beast

Like I said hopefully it sets up Juanma vs. Donaire. Donaire has the frame to move up to featherweight easy.
