It's smart IMO, you don't want to end up in cap hell, and unable to sign anyone to replace the players you'd end up losing and/or cutting to get under the cap, they should end up with $45M-$50M in cap room when 2027 comes around, plus they can create over $81.5M in restructures in 2027.

This is what I would call being financially healthy or responsible.

Heard we will be 35M over the cap next year so that cuts that 72M in half leaving us with 37M. Then we have the Ayuik situation which can be 13M or 30M in dead cap depending if we spilt it. So realistically we have around 24M to spend at best
Which I wouldn't be surprised if they roll that over to have breathing room for next year FA and draft signings

Not 100% correct, they are about $35M over for next year, but that will be cut down to like $20M when you include 51 players, & Aiyuk is cut/traded, and they're about $70.957M under when you count Height & Halton's projected deals right now, they'd likely be $60M under the 2026 cap once the season begins, since they have to account for the PS, which will cost at minimum $3.96M, maximum of $4,942,800, plus the 52nd and 53rd players will cost at least $885K each, so $1.77M total, & $5M being set aside for emergencies, so they should easily carryover at least $50M in cap room, so they should have $45M-$50M before factoring in top 51, $30M after top 51, plus they can create over $81.5M from redoing Brock, CMC, Bosa, Osa, Warner, & Lenoir's deals, so there won't be an issue at all.

F Joey Bosa. He played us last year to leverage the Bills. If it wasn't for little bro Nick more of is would feel the same.
Hes old and always hurt, he can play somewhere else or hang out rot and retire with Russ Wilson.
There's still decent IOL FAs like Bitonio. I wouldn't mind rotating him in while Carver Willis learns the position.

FYI, here's my projected 2026 53-man roster, practice squad, & injured lists as of now.
ACTIVE ROSTER:
OFFENSE:
QB(3): 13 Brock Purdy(2030)/ 10 Mac Jones(2026)/ 14 Kurtis Rourke(2028)
RB(4): 23 Christian McCaffrey(2027)/ 26 Kaelon Black(2029)/ 29 Jordan James(2028)/ 31 Isaac Guerendo(2027)
FB(1): 44 Kyle Juszyczk(2026)
WR(6): 5 Mike Evans(2028)/ 1 Ricky Pearsall(2027)/ 3 Christian Kirk(2026)/ 15 De'Zhaun Stribling(2029)/ 17 Jordan Watkins(2028)/ 19 Jacob Cowing(2027)
TE(2): 88 Jake Tonges(2027)/ 89 Luke Farrell(2027)
C(2): 64 Jake Brendel(2026)/ 78 Brett Toth(2026)
LG(2): 65 Robert Jones(2026)/ 74 Carver Willis(2029)
RG(2): 77 Dominick Puni(2027)/ 75 Connor Willis(2028)
LT(2): 71 Trent Williams(2027)/ 76 Vederian Lowe(2027)
RT(2): 68 Colton McKivitz(2028)/ 69 Enrique Cruz Jr.(2029)
DEFENSE:
DE(5): 97 Nick Bosa(2028)/ 91 Sam Okuyainonu(2026)/ 56 Keion White(2026)/ 94 Romello Height(2029)/ 96 Cameron Sample(2026)
DT(2): 92 Osa Odighizuwa(2028)/ 93 Gracen Halton(2029)
NT(2): 95 Alfred Collins(2028)/ 99 C.J. West(2028)
WLB(2): 57 Dre Greenlaw(2026)/ 45 Nick Martin(2028)
MLB(2): 54 Fred Warner(2029)/ 48 Tatum Bethune(2027)
SLB(2): 51 Luke Gifford(2027)/ 53 Jaden Dugger(2029)
CB(5): 2 Deommodore Lenoir(2029)/ 0 Renardo Green(2027)/ 20 Upton Stout(2028)/ 22 Nate Hobbs(2026)/ 41 Ephesians Prysock(2029)
FS(2): 27 Ji'Ayir Brown(2026)/ 33 Siran Neal(2026)
SS(2): 6 Malik Mustapha(2027)/ 36 Marques Sigle(2028)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
PK(1): 18 Eddy Piñeiro(2029)
P(1): 7 Corliss Waitman(2026)
LS(1): 46 Jon Weeks(2026)
PUP:
TE 85 George Kittle(2029)
DE 98 Mykel Williams(2028)
PRACTICE SQUAD:
RB 32 Patrick Taylor Jr.*
WR 4 Will Pauling
WR 86 Junior Bergen
WR 18 Wesley Grimes
TE 82 Khalil Dinkins
C 63 Nick Zakelj*
LT 62 Austen Pleasants
RT 60 Brandon Parker*
RT 67 Isaac Alarcón**
DE 59 Mikail Kamara
DT 55 Sebastian Valdez
DT 75 James Thompson Jr.
NT 65 Bryson Eason
MLB 49 Garret Wallow*
CB 24 Jack Jones*
CB 43 Jakob Robinson
FS 38 Jalen Stroman
With this roster, the 49ers would have 72 players signed, accounting for $225,375,577, with $52,475,241 in dead money, total of $277,850,818, putting them $63,318,706 under their $341,169,524 adjusted salary cap.
Then they'd have 40 players signed for 2027, they'd be $9,775,972 over a $330M projected cap, but with just 40 players signed, while they'd be $20,005,972 over with 51 players signed, they'll carryover at least $50M with this roster, putting them $43.542M under with 40 players signed, or $33.312M under with 51 signed.
They can create over $83.529M by redoing 6 deals, Brock Purdy($8.032M), Nick Bosa($25,067,200), Osa Odighizuwa($14.992M), Deommodore Lenoir($11.87M), Fred Warner($11.164M), & Christian McCaffrey($12.404M).

Part of the assumption is likely driven by an eventual expansion to 18 games by 2028 season, which should spike the salary cap by another 20% for the additional revenue. So you roll over a balance, push money in future years, and still maintain salary cap space give expected increases.

Been meaning to say this for a while but I don't get the desire for Joey B. He looks EXACTLY like that prototypical semi-washed up aging veteran that you overpay for, then he misses parts or all of about a third or more of the games and finishes with 4 sacks while getting outplayed by a younger, cheaper player on the team that doesn't get to play much.....because of Joey B.

Joey isnt going to sign until all of OTA's and most of training camp is done. Nor should he and nor should a team want him in case he gets injured.
He played well enough last year that we should be interested come training camp.

The question is who? we have a lot of young talent on the d line and we would have to part with them, which isn't the biggest deal but sucks long term for a one year guy like Joey Bosa.
I'm more interested in who we can trade for. we have the money to go in big time for someone but the flip side is that next years draft is supposed to be great. so those picks are very valuable.
