What happened to the vaunted 49ers DLine? MNF game, then travel across the country? Tired? I don't know, but we know the defense is not the main problem right now.
Fans do this every time the Niners lose a game or 2 just before the bye week. Fans panic and the sky is falling and then the team goes on tear post bye. Remember 2023 when the team started 5-0 and then lost three in a row before the bye?

It sounds lame, but yes. I think they were just jet lagged and tired. I'm not really hitting the panic button with the defense.

I don't blame the defense at all. They played well for 6 games and only s**t the bed here. They looked gassed and sluggish from the get go in the 1st quarter. It was probably just the east coast trip and jet lag. I know thats a lame excuse, but its what I'm going with unless they play bad again.

The offense on the other hand. Yeah, you basically have zero offense if Mike Evans and CMC is out. I seriously don't understand what is the plan here? Just pray Evans doesn't injure his achilles and pray Stribling is actually good when he comes back? I mean damn.

Bad take. The offense was moving really well despite having no receivers. The issue was back breaking mistakes that directly took points off the board.

Back to back fumbles (latter which was loss of possession). I think that drive goes for 7 but even devil's advocate gives you a FG unless Eddy craps the bed (sadly, a distinct possibility).

Purdy's inexcusable gaffe of not throwing it far enough out of bounds. Is it 7 maybe? but let's say for sake of argument it's just a field goal.

Watkins drop (despite what I consider a horrendous call) is a definite 7. Let's say 6 if Eddy misses.

All told, that add up to a 13 to 17 point swing.

That woulda put the 49ers at 33 or 37 points which is incredible no matter what; let alone No Evans or remotely capable WR.

This was a complete team loss from coaching on down but the offense's issue wasn't about non production. It was repeated costly and fundamental mistakes that took points away.

In my opinion the defense looked much worse. No pressure on Penix at all. A TON of penalties that kept drives alive. Complete inability to get off the field on 3rd down.

LBs were the only ones who came to play.

Not gonna win every game, fellas. Biggest mistake today was not resting more dudes.

If you haven't noticed, they don't have very many dudes left to rest.

You can only have 53 players on a roster, and suit up 48 on game day. We're getting awfully close with the injuries to where we might not even have enough players to field the 48 players.

They're quickly running out of the allotted 8 players you're allowed to bring back from IR (which is why Bosa and Evans aren't on IR).

The reason why CMC got hurt again is because they were over using him. And why were they overusing him? Oh its because the gameplan going in was to overuse CMC and Kittle, then maybe throw it to Watkins and Cowing once or twice because they have no good receivers.

Of course this all fell completely apart after CMC went to the blue tent.

And then it basically snowballed from there. The fumble and the picks.

The interception, at least the first one seemed like a miscommunication between Purdy and Kirk. It sounded like he expected him to go to the sideline

I just rewatched the play, that was Cowing in the vicinity, not Kirk.

And Cowing didn't even try to do anything, just casually walked by.

Purdy in the post game presser said he expected Kirk to be there so idk. Maybe he misspoke

Just walk out of bounds, Cowing is a bum who wasn't expecting glock Purdy to throw looks like Cowing also thought the catch was out of bounds lol

Nah we were due for a loss imo. Just too many injuries.

got Joe blows running routes….I was more pissed about the lack of pass rush and all the turnovers

unacceptable

Ya that's bad however I think we need some context, they played to stop bijan (correctly imo). And penix to his credit beat us.

Absolutely disgusting. One play Osa was unblocked, I think the other two were from blitzes. That means our DL was absolutely manhandled from start to finish.

Completely pathetic. 3 pressures. Downright sickening.

Exactly- 4 Turnovers and still a chance to win. Bad games happen, just a heads up to those that seem to be new to this.

I've concluded the following was our demise in this order:
1. Brocks horrible interceptions
2. Penalties especially all the DPI ones
3. Jack Jones (could be included with penalties). He is so bad
4. Eddy P
5. Then injuries is last
