The offense on the other hand. Yeah, you basically have zero offense if Mike Evans and CMC is out. I seriously don't understand what is the plan here? Just pray Evans doesn't injure his achilles and pray Stribling is actually good when he comes back? I mean damn.
I honestly would love to know what is the plan in a situation like this. Prior to everything spiraling out of control, the offense was moving the ball. I'd argue they moved the ball all game. But more of- what was the game plan? I figured it was an easy Kittle, Juice, Black, and CMC driven game, with smart passes and deep shots sprinkled in to Watkins, Kirk, Cooks, and Cowing. Can't wait for the film breakdown this week to see where it went wrong, outside of the obvious self inflicted wounds.

Looked to be in total control offensively until CMC went out. He's really valuable, lol.
First drive was all him.

Run it down their throats until the pass opens up?
Works fine until your rb1 gets hurt and rb2 starts fumbling. Then doghouse them completely the rest of the game and hope purdy can win with no running game and no wrs?
That's basically how it got called...
Don't give rb3 James any carrys since he almost fumbled it away also even though he looked good on a couple runs before...

Just a sloppy game all around. Penalties, turnovers and so on. Not really worried about where we are at. This stuff happens over the course of 18 weeks. We have the bye week at the perfect time. We will get a bunch of people back after it. Hopefully we can make a few additions via the trade market. It's the perfect time to bring them in off a bye. I think we will be fine moving forward. Relax.

I had a bad feeling about this game from the get-go. Falcons are a team who are capable of putting up points and they have some good skill players. On that first drive I thought it might end up being the Brock and Christian show, with a little George and Kyle thrown in. Their current batch of receivers don't inspire any confidence, and it doesn't seem like Brock trusts them at all to be where they're supposed to be. And the turnovers didn't help.
Hopefully, they'll start to get some guys back after the bye and can keep the train running after this brief detour. Go Niners!

I'm not too worried about this loss. We were never gonna go 17-0, with the injuries we've had and having to travel to the east coast on a short week. I'm not surprised at all what happened, "but…but we look bad" lol ok? When do teams that lose the game usually ever look "good" 6-1 going into the bye, first in the west and will still be getting out of it, get healthy, regroup and let's smash the Raiders.

One thing that is glaring is how fast the secondary is with Upton Stout out there. We really missed him today and I think we miss Sigle too. Can't wait to get the whole band back together and start getting g hot going In to December. Bosa back, Evans back, DRob back, Deebo back, Upton back, Sigle back.
Youngsters have been stepping up but you can expect mistakes from them.

Offense was fine. They were about to go up 21-9 if not for the Black fumble. Then Purdy's int along the sideline. Thats what went wrong

What the falcons did was irrelevant. Still should have won. But, we can't turn the ball over missing all of our WRs

It's not that complicated. Team overall made too many mistakes. Penalties, turnovers, 3rd/4th down. Looked like a tired/injured team needing their bye week to reset and refresh.

CMC going down changed everything.

People keep saying CMC was the problem after going out but it really wasn't. Not in terms of being able to move the ball at least. We moved the ball well still. Black just fumbled in scoring position and then Purdy threw a bit of a careless throwaway pick..
A multitude of guys came together to make game costing mistakes that they don't normally have.
The top five today were the fumble, both picks, the Osa encroachment, and the Eddy P miss.
Not to mention.. Kick coverage was also absolutely uncharacteristically pathetic. All three phases took turns blowing it.

You aren't going to win many games when the defense gives up 29-points. Part of that may have been due to a short field awarded to the Falcons following a 49ers turnover. But, the defense still had to give up yards before eventually giving up scores. Which the defense did. In abundance. The young kids who made amazing, game-changing plays in previous wins took the day off.

the falcons had multiple drives set up by a long kick return. Then you also have 4 turnovers.
did we watch the same game?
