CMC: Does not matter
All WR: Does not matter
Kittle/TE: Does not matter
QB: Matters
It's all about the defense. That's how Seattle won it last season. They loaded up on the defense, made some really solid picks, and those moves paid off for them. The 49ers, likewise, have invested heavily in beefing up the defense. I have high hopes for the upcoming season.
I'd love to see Brock Purdy win football games by leading the offense on three FG drives. 9-3 or 9-7 baby. I know those kind of games will bore most 49er fans. But defense wins.

Not a good example. Titans were running first string against our backups. When Osa, Halton, and Friends line up, things will be much improved.

Alfred Collins is supposed to be the 49ers' base down run stuffer. He was out there getting put on skates.

defending LAC's run game should be a good barometer. i'm hoping it was just a bad game. it happens.

I'd like to be hopeful as well but the reports of him being pushed around in practice in addition to the preseason game doesn't help.

Zakelj is like a cold sore. Just can't get rid of him.

There has been a ton of good defenses that have never won a super bowl. You need to be somewhat balanced.
If you have a great D you need an above average O. If you have a great O you need an above average D. You also need a lot of things to go your way to win a Super Bowl but that's the gist of it.

Yes and the DL is a rotation. Has Halton played a regular season snap?
