Happens every year.

Just to put a positive spin on this (and I agree, it could be much better) is that the two 2026 OLine picks looks like they can break into the starting lineup sooner rather than later. Enrique especially looks like a raw Trent Williams, and if he turns out like Colton Mckivitz, ShanaLynch just got a first round talent with 7th round draft capital. Again, if everything goes right - and it usually never does.
To me its 2 things not really covered.

1a. Draft philosophy - they talk themselves into players in the first 3 rounds. Their philosophy for rounds 5-7 is excellent perhaps the best in the league though so it kind of cancels each other out but its still a major issue.

1b. Settling on the OL. There were centers and guards in this free agent class that we could have went after. Not only that we could have addressed it early in the draft but they chose not too. Our oline isn't as bad as some on here claim but it can be better and they don't want to invest in it unless your name is Trent Williams.

They have brought stability to this team and at the end of the day that's what you want. You're kidding yourselves if you think you'll going to agree with everything a front office does.
There is way more issues with this team than health. Kyle can drag a bunch of scrubs to the playoffs but once you get there you need to have actual players. The secondary is probably a bottom 3 unit in the NFL. You wont win a SB with that.

i think our CB are actually really good. Last year they kinda got the short end of the stick because of how bad the pass rush was and they got better this offseason.

The S is a different story i agree there its the weakest unit by far and we may have the worst room in nfl

They also "look bad" because there wasn't a pass rush.

a Pass Rush is going to make DBs look much better.

The 2023 draft was a bit of a disaster, but considering they got CMC (in 2022), they literally had no first round picks (Trey 3 first round Bust Draft) in 2023 and lost a ton of draft picks in 2023 and 2024 (lost 2023 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick, and a 4th rounder, and a 2024 fifth rounder for CMC). Keep in mind they were gunning for the Superbowl in 2022 and put all their chips in the basket and lost in the NFC Championship game in 2022, and paid for it in 2023. I think if Purdy didn't pan out so well, I think ShanaLynch would be out of a job right now. Jets gave Saleh four years, I think York would have given ShanaLynch at most 3 years and fired them had they not hit on Purdy.

I love these front page articles on the zone where players come out with these bogus quotes where they feel they'll be "unleashed" on this team or that they feel reborn or the system here is so much more acclimated for them to demonstrate their full potential.

only to end up duds during the season. Why even post these meaningless snippets ?

Ok
Roster management and it's not close.

WR every year with the 1st pick. Whether it be 1st or 2nd round. RB every year in the 3rd round. OT, OG, C on the ignore button until late rounds or free agency. Coverage Safety. Who needs one? Certainly not the 49ers. Pass rush edge. Let's hope Bosa and his triple ACL can carry that. Otherwise we got a 239 lb. pass rusher they have high hopes for. Shany is always just one more WR away. He will pick a WR in 2027 too. Probably 2028 as well. If he just had one more WR the world would be right. That's always the problem.

The Rams and Seahawks don't draft like this. They draft offensive line, safety, pass rusher. They deal with core positions. They win the Super Bowl and we don't. The results say it all.

A lot of our best players are free agents or trades. Either or. The draft is horrific on this team. Trent Williams and Christian McCaffrey come to mind. If they didn't do well there this team would be a total catastrophe. Some key guys are getting older now too. We need a full roster replacement.

Pick a WR 1st pick Aiyuk, Pearsall in the 1st rounds each respectively. Still need a WR. 1st pick - 2nd round - Dezhaun Stribling. Pick Mykel Williams 1 - 11 overall. Doesn't rush the passer well. Now injured. Still need DE. Anybody see the problem here? When was a good coverage safety picked for years and years under this regime?
