Since they're not eligible for waivers (meaning no team can outright claim them), and a player has to be on the initial 53 to be eligible for IR designated to return, their roster spots are currently going to Christian Kirk and Austin Pleasants. Once Kirk and Pleasants are officially on IR (after 24 hours), Weeks and Waitman will be brought back.

We did the same thing with Moorstead last year.

We don't know exact severity of injuries and return timetables, but based on the 49ers' initial 53-man roster, the most likely IR placements tomorrow (in order of likelihood):

-Nick Martin
-Luke Gifford
-Nate Hobbs
-Ephesians Prysock

They'll need at least 2 to make room for…

bad move not keeping Eason. That will come back to haunt them.
They may sneak Valdez thru but Eason I don't know I hope so.

Since every team must have a P, K & LS and with those players automatically taking up three of the 53, wish they'd expand rosters by three to 56.

With injuries always being a part of the game (seems like even more so now) along with the long, 17-game season, really wish this would happen to give teams more flexibility. It would allow them to keep some more potential hidden gems they've uncovered such as UDFAs (like Eason this year).

Don't know, this team does weird stuff. He's actually a freakish athlete but so raw and unpolished.
