Love what the 49ers are doing on Day 3! Enrique Cruz is another one of my 🎯 targets in my draft guide. Perfect fit for this Shanahan offense as a developmental swing tackle. pic.twitter.com/h9cP4bBWCB
A few clips of him in space pulling, kicking out and smashing people.
I'm not super high on this OT class but there are a couple of intriguing Day 3 developmental prospects. One of those is Enrique Cruz from Kansas. Very good athlete at 6'5, 314 with moldable traits. Has experience at both left and right tackle and is at his best when he's in… pic.twitter.com/lMRr1ye7Gl
I mean that's pretty freaking athletic, they should be able to work with that.
Enrique Cruz Jr. is a OG prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 9.99 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 3 out of 1904 OG from 1987 to 2026.https://t.co/sFKyTIYHQHpic.twitter.com/aq5PIlBVnU

Watch Cruz (RT) against DEs Bailey and Height - it was not pretty lol. To be fair, they did this to a lot of OLs, but Cruz has no kick-step. I'm not sure what he's doing with his feet. They said he's a tackle but he's gonna get bullied if he doesn't fix this at the next level.
Cruz ran the fastest 40 of all the OL. Fitness scores are very good. The one negative I heard was he doesn't bend enough. That's something he can be coached up on. I can see him replacing McKivitz when Colton's extension expires.
Taking a flyer on a guy in round 7 who the position coach really wants is fine. I agree that the dynamic at this point is do we have a better chance of bringing the guy in by drafting him or making a udfa offer. Probably would have attracted a lot of udfa interest with his measurables so blowing our last pick on him is fine.

Agree, and maybe he can play left tackle. I hope he can develop that far to be even considered for the position. He'll save us a future first round draft pick if that happens.

we gonna put this guy off the LOS and make him a U-back, wham blocks, motion iso leads, power kickouts.... now if he has hands and can catch the ball
I'm hoping Jake Tonges can take that spot once Juszczyk hangs 'em up.
