So he's the next Fred Warner?
Well he's a bigger and faster version of Fred.
I remember us saying something similar about last years LB pick.
Pretty sure no one was claiming Nick Martin was bigger than Fred Warner, they might have said he was fast though.
Your on the wrong question, my question was is he the next Fred Warner.
Size doesn't matter, thats what she said.
Point was Dugger might be seen as the next Fred and no one was talking about Nick Martin like that last year.
He is not going to play Fred's position at all. Whole different set.

I dont. But he doesnt have the body type for a traditional lb and morris is a guy who likes to play around with rush/cover assignments.

Has the body of a Sam LB.

SAM lbs aren't 6'5" with 70" arms.

At the moment I like the idea of letting him focus on learning to be a kick a** SAM LB first - whether he fits the typical body type or not. He's sort of half way between a SAM LB and a Kam Chancellor style jumbo box safety.
With all the talk about 5-man surfaces - his size, speed, and experience playing from the edge should allow him to develop as a pass rusher and set the edge in the run game.
His background as a converted safety hopefully comes with coverage skills. Adding this type of size may help us counter the trend of 2 and 3 TE sets.
Beating out Luke Gifford may be the best/easiest path to rookie year impact. Would immediately add a ton of athleticism to our bigger base defensive sets.
Let him focus and learn. If he develops down the road the team can start getting more creative with him as a chess piece.

I also am hearing he can rush the passer. That dovetails into Raheem's muti-front zone blitzing concepts too.

They are similar in build and athletically, so Jaden will have a good teacher/mentor in learning how to adjust physically. I envision when he and Height are both in there, one will loop out whle the loops in with with whoever is in at DT occupying the guard. Even if they keep a RB or tightend in- they will get runned over if their spped to power is their. They can also fake it and one drops back.

Jaden will not be the Mike LB. KJ played WILL didn't he, but that is Dre for now. So SAM- there was talk because of his size, he would take the TE and bigger slot receivers if he is in coverage. For his rookie year I see him blitzing a lot with some falling back in coverage. depends on the team they play.
We are not going to see it till the season starts as pre season is supposed to be vanilla schemes.

Buddy has to make the roster first before we worry about where he's going to play. I hope he can put it together and give us another late round gem. He's a very intriguing player but with guys like this I worry about how they can be snuck onto the roster because he likely needs a year or two of seasoning but could we sneak him onto the PS?
Guess we'll see what he can do in camp and figure it out from there.
