Honestly like the Kaelon Black pick more than Prysock. Even his highlights aren't impressive, every time he makes a tackle the RB or WR is making the first down already. And he's giving up catch after catch, don't forget these are highlights I'm watching. lol

Maybe. This wasn't a very talented draft class and the 49ers historically haven't drafted defensive backs well under the Kyle Shanahan era. Hopefully that will change with Raheem and Jerry Gray, these guys have a long history of coaching defensive backs.

I dunno, Lenoir was a great pick, Green can play, the trade for K'Waun Williams was a great pickup , Moseley was a good corner who we picked up undrafted if I'm not mistaken . Stout obviously had a great rookie year. I feel like they've found some decent corners, though not a top 5 star or anything like that

I know what highlight tape you talking about; kinda messed up brah whoever put that video out there. That's not "highlights"
He's giving up every single catch but making the tackles. You gotta go watch the full games to get a better feel. The best is the All-22 for any secondary evaluation; but I can't find any for him and don't subscribe to the college stuff. I've only been able to watch three full games so far and I will say this; the kid does have potential to be a starting boundary corner. He's surprisingly more fluid than I thought at that size. I feel like he needs to trust his eyes more and build confidence in what he's seeing out there to have a better break on the ball. I don't know if that has to do more with the scheme; but it seems like he's always hesitating and doesn't want to give up the big play.
I saw some mention a move to safety. That's very interesting to me. Personally; he's just not physical enough for me at safety, but I don't think he lacks contact courage. I'd love to see him in coverage though; patrolling the back end with that size and speed. Could really be what unlocks the kids potential with his eyes forward instead of his back towards the ball. Maybe that would help with the hesitancy problem if he can see the field and the plays develop more than he can at corner.

I see this primarily as a ST pick. Which is totally fine.

i wouldnt be so sure. He has really good length and moves really well and he does a great job pressing. I do see him as a pretty effective outside corner is a zone heavy scheme which is what we run. Hes pretty good in route anticipation. I think some good coaching could make him a really effective outside starter at least a lot of the mental and physical traits are there already
I would be absolutely stunned though if we move him to S i just dont think it will happen its more about the ball skills he has stone hands. He actually gets his hands on a lot of balls but i have seen a few times where he flat our drops the ball so forget about making any of those 50/50 int

I can see what you're saying about the hesitancy part. And he's always playing the receiver instead of trying to track the ball, which is probably why he gave up all those catches in his highlights. lol
And he might be a better Safety if he's moved there but like you said he just doesn't look physical enough, I see the same. And if that's the case I wish they actually drafted a frickin Safety!!!! I'm hoping they draft that kid from BYU next year (not holding my f**kin breath though) Faletau Satuala, 6'4" 210 pound Safety, 5 picks in two seasons!!!!

Those are definitely decent players, and maybe I'm a bit spoiled comparing the ShanaLynch picks to guys like Ronnie Lott and Deion Sanders. I guess what I'm trying to say they really don't emphasize the defensive backs today (in the ShanaLynch era) the way they did it back in the dynasty years.
Which is fine, they have a defensive scheme that just is enough to get them in the playoffs and not something that can get them past the Superbowl hump. Same on offense, in my opinion. But if you have a defense without weaknesses, I think you have a better shot at winning Superbowls even if you have a mediocre offense.

the Tarantula, thats funny!
Lenoir was a 5th round pick and the Tarantula has that same rabid hyena style of play, see what happens

I dont know, the Ohio State tape is really good. Tacario was out and Prysock shuts down Carnell Tate and gives up like 3 soft 7 yard outs to Jeremiah Smith. Really good zone awareness in cover 3 and has good technique in press man. Slow to break and leaves alot to be desired as a tackler at his size though. I wouldnt leave him in off man coverage against speed all day.

Opinions can be formed more on the misses than the hits. You almost always have more misses. I see comments on how the Niners always overlook the Oline and DBs but somehow they manage to be in the hunt every year except when key guys get injured. Kyle has drafted the same number of O linemen as Walsh did during the last 7 years and drafted them in the same rounds. One each in the 1st thru 5th. The difference is the quality was better when Walsh was drafting and of course they had Coach Bobb who was considered the best O line coach in the league.
