No, we absolutely did not. Guy is a Grant Cohn parrot.

Besides his Cohn praise (he just doesn't seem to know better) he's been all right

Dicks is aight but if I want a burger in Seattle I'll hit up Red Mill up in Ballard but the Dicks up on Broadway is notoriously good. The one in Spokane no bueno. It's ok but nothing like the west side.
Look Grant is good people. I don't know where all the hate comes from. He's better than Lombardi who said Purdy was the number one QB in the NFL lol

Perhaps I've been hard. Aside from his personality he's been oh kay.

Seriously, reading a Seahawks fan launder Cohn's opinions to 49ers fans makes me want to:

Come on let's not act like this place didn't go crazy in the same way when we picked him.

Folks would rather go based off what others say, than using their own eyes. Everything showed he would be perfect for our team, our offense.

I mean you had to squint to see that he was "perfect for this team" there wasn't a ton of route nuance and the offense he played in wasn't showing his skill set overall.

there's a reason why he was regarded as a day 2 guy and not the 33rd overall player in this past draft….but the size speed and physicality provides the high end upside. Imo he comes off as a faster JJ which is a really good starting WR.

Overall the WR class was underwhelming imo. This kid came to the perfect environment and if he keeps stacking days and stays healthy, we might have a good one!

You just had to watch more than the Ole Miss tape on him. Which was something that it seems not very many did before s**tcanning the pick as a reach. Turns out that most of the complaints the draftnicks had about the pick were, as per usual, based on incomplete information and laziness. It's funny going back and reading player threads from the beginning, and seeing the freak out from folks who let other people do their thinking for them.

This just reeks of condescending bs (your post, that is) and assumption that is absolutely baseless. To think people who watch tape and evaluate prospects, do some selective cherry picking and/are or blind or stupid to only watch his last year out of five in college, is a pretty asinine assumption and definitely made in bad faith.

The pick was is and still will be a reach even if Stribling makes five all pros. Because a reach is relevant to his projected value, not his actual success or failure as a NFL player.

Yes, it was really funny in those Moody, Latu, Beathard and every single "we are the smartest people in the room who know more than you" reaches threads. Very "funny".

Cohn knows far less about football than Lombardi. Cohn is just a clickbait contrarian and a fraud. If you're going to try and talk niner football, and you are going to want real knowledge, Maiocco is the most legit source of the media guys. Cohn will just get you ridiculed, and rightly so. By the way, Purdy is the highest rated qb since he was drafted, and is 147 pass attempts away from being the highest rated quarterback in the history of the NFL. Which is what Lombardi was saying, in his wierd way.

You can't base a player is a reach or not based on projected mock drafts

were you Michael Crabtree agent?

Meh… ultimately, Grant is a pretty harmless s**t stirrer.

None of the beat writers are good sources of actual football analysis, most especially Lombardi. They're barely good sources for basic reporting, with some exception.

The only way you could think that the guy was a reach is either you failed to do your homework, or you let someone else do your thinking for you because, if you bothered to watch his film from Washington State and Oklahoma State, you would've seen that he was not nearly as limited as the "experts" were claiming. As far as "value", that is the some of the most subjective b******t to ever be pushed. Value to who? How do you know what his value is? Because someone who didn't bother to watch more than one year of highlights told you it was? As for the remark about it being funny reading these player threads from the beginning, it is hilarious to see people freaking out before the player ever hits the field, and how hilariously wrong most folks are (including myself). I'm not inherently smarter than most people, I'm just not so lazy that I won't do the research to find out the facts before publicly freaking out on a public forum over something as stupid as perceived consensus from folks who are too busy to do the research.
Excited to see more of Stribling next week

He was still near the top last yr at beating man coverage even with the injuries

Projected value according to who?? That is what I never understood about these things. Let's say somehow we had access to every teams draft board, and multiple teams had stribling rated as the 30th best prospect but the internet/draft guy consensus is he is a late 2nd.

Which is more accurate related to reach vs not? You would have to say the team draft boards are what matters, not some Internet guys.

Now, you can say this guy sucks, he's not worth a 2nd round pick, and then are we talking about a reach (could've got him later in draft) or just a bad pick?

Anyhow, it all means nothing immediately after the draft. Players can play or they can't and you find out very soon
