I listen to Cosell and value his opinions more than any of other radio or media pundits. He doesn't make predictions or rank players on his big board. He just analyzes film and reports what his eyes see. I hope he's right about the talent he sees in Stribling but we need to see it on the field in NFL games.

Cosell is a straight shooter. He won't butter you up. He'll just out facts you with the stuff he learns from his tape watching. I learn a lot of stuff listening to him.

Yeah but he never played WR so why should I listen to what he has to say

end of the day I think Stribling will be a productive player for this team. Taking him at 33 is pretty bold though.

the more coming out about him along with more legit film clips makes me feel a little better about all of it.
Well Raheem Morris coached Wide Receivers! there's that aspect of football.

I like Johnny Dells take on him. JD mentions that Stribling has the talent to take on a bit of the Deebo Samuel role. Remember that hybrid RB/WR combo? JD thinks that with his speed and RAC ability (bubble screens and Jet Plays) he can be a difference maker in games.

we now have two 2s, two aging vets and a 2nd year slot... lets all hope for the best !!

Kyle reminds me more of Tom Coughlin, a tough diciplianrian who won two Superbowls with NY in his 60's. Both were college Wr's. (Not that Kyle will wait that long to win a superbowl though)

We all like takes that fit what we want, I'm not saying Crocker is right or wrong. I'm not gonna label him bad at evaluating players because he played DB in the NFL either.

He's an interesting prospects for sure. Some people are saying he's an excellent route runner some are saying he isn't lol. Probably somewhere in the middle. He's an older prospect so how much more will he develop?

Also I think folks have different things they want in their WR. Me I like twitchy separators. Good feet that can beat man. Others like speed guys or big WRs that can go up and get it and block. There's no right or wrong.

Interesting, that would put him as essentially as fast as Thompson who clocked 22.1 but over 24 mph at the combine.

Trying to not let this make me get upset all over again....

5 other front offices calling Stribling a reach? Wild if true.

it was 5 responses 1 B and 4C.

The key thing to remember is what type of offense do these people run its the same with Ruteledge. Teams that run ZBS and a WCO will have these players higher than if they dont because they wouldnt be a great fit

Thanks. After listening to feedback from guys like Cosell coupled with other FO feedback, feel much better about the pick. Seemed a lot more in line with A

Eh I wouldn't put any stock in this and I absolutely think Stribling was a reach even though I like the player and the term likely isn't exactly a smoking gun.

Well in Striblings case; the key thing to remember is that both Cosell and Bucky Brooks is saying that he wouldn't have lasted much longer after pick #33. He's a prospect that caught fire late and teams were still trying to schedule 30 visits with him (which he had to turn down cause it was so late). All it takes is one team and the 49ers liked him enough too not take that risk of losing him.

Initially; I myself complained about that in this thread, that the value wasn't there at 33 and they should have traded back again or taken him at 58. After hearing what Cosell and Bucky said; among others, I no longer think he was a reach at 33. That's just me; to each their own.

FWIW, Dane Bugler heard before the draft that Stribling was going to be drafted probably in the second round but not that high.

touchdown with a better throw.

You can see it on tape. Dude is an absolute burner when he gets going. That long stride helps him pull away from the defense when he sees daylight. I'm surprised he wasn't faster during his 40 because that kid can fly.

Absolutely agree. John Madden won with Marve Hubbard and monstrously massive blockers in front of him. A modern version of a Madden team in my opinion would be Baltimore and Lamar Jackson running for TD's. If Lamar wouldn't implode in the playoffs - they'd have had a good shot at one more championship.
