but damn.... it has a minor Rice like feel... blue collar guy, work hard mentality. Son of a Brick layer, Son of a Marine...it is not the same, but it has the same real world -simple- hard nose feel to it.

Let's hope we see something unique in the near future. We always have first in, last out guys. Every team in the NFL does, heck every team in the NFL has hard working blue collar guys too.

You just don't always have that mentality in a dude with fantastic size, and speed.

It sure does look like Stribling has the Pitt bull, never say die attitude. He plays like it in the clips I saw. He'll go though stuff like Jerry did, (all WR's do) and hopefully he's mentally strong enough to weather it like Jerry. We shall see.

I don't know if Kyle ever had a Jerry Rice type of deep threat WR. Off the top of my head, his top receivers have been Goodwin, Kittle, and Aiyuk. None of them are at the Jerry Rice level. Kittle is probably a hall of fame player, but he's a tight end. He's not a wide receiver. I mention this because Rice saved Walsh a lot of games with his last minute touchdowns. He was a difference maker in Superbowls.

If player history is the drafting credentials, here's what we do:

Montana = Picks QB's
Jerry Rice = Picks WR's
Ronnie Lott = Picks's Safeties
Patrick Willis = Picks's LB's
Trent Williams = Play LT and Picks OL
Roger Craig = Picks RB's

We have a golden standard if that is indeed the standard.

Greg Cosell or mrbusinessman499, who is correct?

Really hoping Stribling gets off to a good start, impresses, and stays healthy at OTAs and TC. Then, hopefully he does well enough in preseason games to the point where Kyle trusts him to make plays and perform well on his assignments in being a regular part of this offense.
