They had several offers to trade back.

Apparently their is rumors the Rams were going to trade up to grab him in the 2nd.
After watching his highlights he plays alot like Deebo. No Wonder Kyle wanted him so early. And Ironically he was drafted in a similar spot as Deebo. Deebo was drafted 36th overall.

This seems like a weak thing to hate or doubt on.

You don't know if he would have been available if they traded back. The Browns were one of the teams looking to trade up from 39 to 33. They ultimately selected Boston at 39. They could have been interested. It turns out, NFL teams were higher on him than most amateur scouts. The Texans were interested in Stribling and were picking 38th. The Steelers, Pats, and Bears were also interested in Stribling.

You cannot rely on big boards by amateur scouts, especially when the variance on them is stupidly high. The prospects with the highest variance on where they were ranked were Stribling, Faulk, and Onyedim. You could find these guys anywhere from the mid 2nd to the 7th round depending on who was evaluating. Faulk went 31st and the 49ers were willing to take Stribling at 30 if they picked. And in the NFL draft, all you need is one team to love you.

He's a solid fit for the Shanny offense but not a great fit for Brock's play style. If he learns a route tree and cleans up his breaks he could be a great addition. I do believe we could have got him with a trade down as well.

Makes perfect sense... get a WR that can block, but not an OL who's job it is to block 🤔

Kyle knows how to pick WR. He's been more right than wrong. Clearly not into celebrating draft picks this year doe lol

Has he though....only pearsall is still on the roster and we know headcase aiyuk ain't coming back.

Pettis sucked
Danny Gray sucked
Jalen Hurd sucked
Jacob Cowing sucks
Ronnie Bell sucked
Watking so far sucks

The majority of players this team draft are not even in the team anymore.

Maybe you could list the teams who keep the majority of players they draft?

I'm not thrilled with the pick just because I felt he was a sizeable reach.

However I'm looking for all positive things about it to feel better and obviously hoping for the best.

Being a system fit, especially when coming from college, is a BIG plus

I think he plays almost identically to Jauan Jennings. I pretended I didnt know who he was watching the highlights and he's Jauan Jennings with tons of speed. They even run similarly but Stribling is just way faster.

At least we wont be missing Jauan. And that I like him as a player.

It's now 3rd and De'Zean.

Height is a good DPR as well just the Black pick really threw a wrench into all this.

If we went like this i think people could come around to this draft more easily.

Stribling
Height
Kilgore/Pregnon/Scott

Black better be actually good and not Sermon or TDP.

If we draft Kilgore/Scott/Proctor at 107 I'm pretending we drafted them at 90 and Black at 107 same way I pretended we drafted West where Nick Martin was picked and vice versa.

Basically a way more faster and athletic Jennings.

If he ends up being that, then the pick will be homerun. Imagine a faster and more athletic Jennings. That's a nasty player. Basically describing like a TOish player.

I didn't see a more athletic Jennings. Just a way faster Jennings with the same athleticism.
can he beat man coverage?

Rams didn't have a 2nd rounder anywhere near that pick. This is why people are upset at them reaching without any regard to consensus or things like where other interested teams are picking.

If the Rams want to give away almost their whole draft to come up to take him then let them or take the "crazy" chance that they won't do that.

Now when we took Pettis there was talk Packers, who were picking right after or few picks after, were interested in him. That makes sense.

Not when the team you're worried about taking your guy is picking at 61, 93 and then not until 200s.

I can guarantee they had an offer to move down into the 40s at worst and could've still gotten him.

I certainly hope he proves to be a great player but it's like they felt this draft wasn't great and decided to just chase guys we like regardless of where other teams would take them.
