It looked like he almost died on the sideline and now it's day to day. I guess I'm glad it's not severe and he can be back sooner. But you would have thought it was more serious by the reactions for sure.

He looked like a lot of pain. A lot worse than day to day. Sometimes a rib thing can be extremely painful. Then you find it's not that serious and day to day it starts to heal more and more. It's good news. But it looked a lot worse.

I was afraid he punctured a lung or something thank god it wasn't that

Agree, that's great news. That doesn't mean the 49ers should let their guard down. Gotta take care of Mike with an eye towards making as sure as possible his availability for the playoffs.

Not being able to breathe is a real negative during cardiovascular activity

He'll be fine by Sunday. Every time you breathe and stretch that muscle it hurts. Heavier the breathing the more it hurts. They should just give him the week off and suit him up on Sunday. Inject him with some Toradol pregame and he should be good.

He sure has a lot of muscle strains/pulls in his injury history.

I disagree on the Toradol. If he is not healthy enough to go, don't go. Let those heal.

Evans is one hit away of being out for 8 weeks

He's a big guy. I think it was the play before where he got hurt. He caught the ball and the defender basically drove his helmet into Evans' ribs. Brock throws it to him on the next play but he was in so much pain that he basically stopped running the route.
A smaller player (a Pettis or Pearsall, for example) would probably have broken ribs and be out for months.

Idk about that.
Minor injuries can be really painful when they happen. Like stubbing your toe or hitting your funny bone. Hurts like hell but your fine in a short time.
