"The Shanahan X receiver runs a bunch of digs and slants and out routes," Harmon said. "And look at Mike Evans's route tree from last year. Those are his best routes.
"This offense is at its best objectively when it has an X receiver kicking ass. And Mike Evans is that guy. That's why I do love the fit with him there in addition to what it's going to do for Ricky Pearsall … because the route tree is just like picture perfect for what Mike Evans still does really well on those in-breakers, especially the digs and the slants, that's why I think it makes a lot of sense for him landing with this team."
