2 International games seems like a lot with one less game being played at home.

Shows how scared Goodell is of guys like Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft, compared to pushovers like Jed York (don't you DARE ask for another practice field before a SB, but you better bend over like a b***h when we send you international TWICE in one season!).
You okay Dr. Eel? You know what they say about folks who use these type of metaphors in an attempt to get a point across..

Between the regular cross-country flying, the trip to Aussie Land, and now Mexico City, it's gotta be a record for mileage in a season.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.

They haven't played overseas in over a decade.

Mexico City is closer to SF than any city in the east coast.

As a season ticket holder, since we are sacrificing a home game for the Mexico game I am hoping they play the Cardinals. Don't mind sacrificing that game.
As someone who potentially wants to go to the Mexico game, I hope they play the Raiders. That would be a fun international game to go to.

The Super Bowl just ended a few days ago, and we're already making excuses for next season

My understanding is the Melbourne game is a Sunday afternoon week 1 but US time which means the game is actually on Monday in Australia. So say it's 4 PM E on that Sunday. That means the game actually starts in Australia the next morning (Mon) around 8 AM. That doesn't even make any f**king sense. Which if true has the team on a 16-18 hr flight getting back home sometime Monday afternoon PT in California. It depends on what time that Sunday the game actually starts CA time. But the true f**king over scenario is the fact week 2 game for them is scheduled as if they played this game in the states. I could be wrong as far as what time they're saying the game is starting continental US, but if that's accurate the Niners are getting absolutely f**ked from week 1 going into week 2. What seems to make more sense to me is the game is really starting on that Sunday afternoon Melbourne time which would actually make the game start Ca time the previous Saturday evening (ex: GT Sep 13 - 1pm AT, actually starts Sep 12 - 6pm PT) but if the game start is really Sunday afternoon, the 13th US time they are definitely f**ked over. Unless they're indeed scheduling this game the weekend of Labor Day, Goodel and the NFL execs should be criminally charged for physical and mental abuse to their own players.

The Vikings are the only other team to have more than one game in the same season in another country. However they played in Ireland and London in back to back weeks so they were able to stay there for the week.
Mexico City is only a 4 hour flight but it's a home game so it's still an extra 8 hours in the air for the team. Better than Melbourne which is a 16 hour flight.

There is absolutely no chance they're playing their first-ever Australia game on a Monday morning local time.
The game HAS to be Saturday night for the U.S. at the very latest. That's the only way this even logistically works. Even Labor Day doesn't work because Australia doesn't get that day off. The NFL is not going to want an empty stadium for this game.
I personally believe the game will be played on Saturday afternoon in Australia which would be Friday night for us, since the NFL has already done opening Friday international games in back-to-back seasons (Chargers/Chiefs and Eagles/Packers the season before). That would be a little better than Sunday afternoon Australia/Saturday night US. But ironically I think I prefer Florio's idea of 49ers-Rams actually being the opener for the NFL season so both teams get as much rest and adjustment for Week 2 as possible. But the earliest that would be possible is Sunday afternoon in Australia/Saturday night US so it would be a full two weeks before the next game unless we play Thursday night in Week 2.

And for the Hags too. I would not be surprised if it comes down to Rams in Australia and Hags in Mexico. Two exciting tough games but would make for good ratings.

The Rams are F'd too. Just play and win and then the travel is a second thought. Yeah it's tough but it's also too much drama. You win it was great. You lose you complain of the travel.
The 9ers have been fairly lucky with what one or two Mexico games which is not a big deal. What about the Jaguars who are always overseas. Their number drawn so play. The season will not collapse into a dark hole.
