The defense has not looked good the past 2 games. I'm not putting this loss on them but they didnt help matters at all. They couldnt get off the field in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Even though Penix had a great game he missed some throws that would have really broke our back.

The secondary was so good weeks 1-4 and helped get coverage sacks. Once Upton Stout left the game the secondary has been a liability.
Not down on the D… The offense/ST have turned it over EIGHT times in the last 3 weeks.

There's room for improvement through refined schematics, a trade, plus Bosa, Sigle and Stout, but the defense will be fine especially once the offense inevitably gets back to its juggernaut status.
Defense wasn't good yesterday. But when it mattered most, they got the Falcons off the field. The 49ers had a chance to take the lead after everything that happened.

Then...the game sealing pick.

Still vexed about letting Skyy Moore leave.....
The second half of each of the last three games has consisted of the referees giving entire drives of first downs to the opponent

It's f**king crazy and something I hope to see less of after the bye

Jack Jones earned every flag he got yesterday

I think the point was more that similar things happen against our WRs on 3rd and we don't get those calls.

Jack jones has been ass but consistently on these flags would be nice

i thought they were fine we contained Bijan completely and they had less than 300 yards in total offense.

The offense was the issue imo. That being said i am not worried i expected a loss this game. We had 2 very physical games in a row with a short week and an early game with a banged up WR.

Games like this will happen and the bye came at the perfect time. We had a 3 game lead over the division (now two) if there was a game to lose it was that one

Agree 💯 %, the defense was not a big problem (other than crap DB play). It was the offensive turnovers. If you take out the offensive turnovers - you have a win by at least a TD. Can't win every game nowadays. The only perfect season was the 72 dolphins and they only played 14 regular season games.
Fines seem to be affecting how aggressive we are.

Maybe, but they were also probably affected by the short week (MNF to a 10 AM road start). They also spent most of the week planning and working on their costumes for the team Halloween party which could have been a factor as well.

Without Stout, Raheem seemed to not want to blitz as much. I hope Raheem can get a Stout 2.0 - maybe a bit bigger and faster than Stout - as a backup Blitzer in the next draft. Raheem just seemed to go zone against Atlanta and he didn't even call DLine stunts much either. Weird.
The defense the last couple weeks is what I was expecting. He is an average DC, his record in his career reflects it. As the season goes on, they will settle around 12-15 in total defense.

Yes! just stay in this range....
