THAT was an awesome read !! even the right shoulder block prior the tackle was perfect... almost like an Urlacher type of move..

this guy's already done so much more than 57-TOAST ever done

They looked really great at shedding blocks, filling gaps, communicating, and coverage in zones. Just amazing. I hope they bring it again this week against the Seahawks.
this guy was all around the ball in the 2nd half.. it got me pumped
i wonder waht adjustmens they made from 1st half to 2nd half but whatever it was, it worked!
Wallow was involved in that famous Brock play in college lol

they stuffed Phillys RBs more than a couple of times behind or at the line.

Saquan only hurt us on the outside.
One of the reasons I think the 49ers will be in a better position to win up in Seattle is because of what I feel could be the improved play from their LBs. I think as a tandem, Kendricks and Wallow might be an improvement over Bethune and Winters. Plus, the emotional boost of having Warner back on the sideline, leading the cheering section. instead of up in the box watching

Good video. Nice breakdown. Although DeMeco did not draft this kid, someone saw promise with him. Unfortunately, for Wallow at least, his first two teams were very strong defensively. The Texans have done nothing but get better, a lot better, since Ryans was hired as the HC in 2023. From Houston, the kid went to the Train Wreck Titans. After a cup of coffee there, Denver signed him. It is really tough for a kid with promise to break into a really good defensive team.

When Bill Walsh was rebuilding the 49ers during that first train wreck of a year in 1979 he was known to hold open tryouts. One of his best draft moves wasn't a draft pick at all. He scoured the waiver wires for players that were cut loose by really good defensive teams. The team that had the best defense at that time was Pittsburgh. The Steelers had just cut some kid who tried to take Mean Joe Green's job. It did not work out for Dwaine Board in Pittsburgh, but Tiny found a home and Super Bowl rings in SF.

I realize that Wallow has had exactly one good game. One good game does not make a career. But he did have one of the best games I've seen from a 49ers LB this season. If he can shut down Seattle's run game like he smothered Saquon Barkley last weekend, Darnold's oblique is in big trouble.
WALL
you shall not pass
kinda wondering whether he or his TCU bro (Winters) gets the start

Agree; much better than Bethune and Winters at least in this game

Yup let's hope they do it again and even better today
According to Lombardi he's starting:

https://sfstandard.com/2026/01/17/ricky-pearsall-49ers-injury-playoffs-seahawks/
"Williams will be back for Saturday's game, and the 49ers' defense will also look significantly different in the back seven. Eric Kendricks and Garret Wallow will start at linebacker, while speedy rookie Marques Sigle will take over for the much slower Ji'Ayir Brown at safety. That trio led the 49ers in tackles during last week's major slowdown and upset of the Philadelphia Eagles."

it's in an article about Pearsall, mainly,... and he doesn't explain or elaborate on it,... but seems quite sure that both LBs are starting,... Idk, I hope it's true,... that run defense against Philly was the best we have had the whole season and with a huge margin,... and we need it, including the 2 LBs, to beat Seattle,...stopping Walker and Charbonnet is crucial
