Mike McDaniel and a potential homecoming to the Niners...your thoughts

I don't care what role he plays... he can role play Woody Allen at Jed's Glory Hole Party for all I care

Just like Acorn Head immediately got work in Green Bay when he got bounced from that terrible Jets' organization

There's still a chance for Niners to have success in the playoffs, and tho Shanny / offense pulled a good choke move, 49ers are a live dog going into Philly. There's good reason, now, to believe that they can pull off the upset on the road. What happens after Philly (TBD)...

Get McDaniel in here. He deserves to be back with the crew and if the Niners make it all the way, it would be awesome and full circle for him / everybody. Whatever Mike / Niners decide to do in the offseason, as far a jobs, I really don't. Just get him in here for now! ASAP!!

Why would he take a RB specialist position? Not happening unless Shany is handing over OC duties which close to zero.

Nothing is certain here... it's a "your thoughts" thread. I just think it would be nice to have him here incase they made it to SB.

Nobody gives a flying rat's ass what role he has

If Shanny / Jed can't find a role for him then oh well, and if they ask him and he doesn't take the offer (whatever role), then it'll be his loss if they make it to SB and pull it off (I KNOW it's a big IF)

Well, remember Saleh just helped out his buddy in GB for the offseason until he got a gig with us... I was just guessing that maybe Woody might do the same thing if the offer came from Shanny. Maybe it's naive / silly of me to think it could happen (sentimental value), and absolutely, why would he other than just to be with the crew again for perhaps a last something. Anything. I guess.

That's cool, he can go anywhere for the 2026 season, but if he got a chance just to be around the old crew and this season's playoff run, then why not It wouldn't negatively affect anyone, he can bounce soon afterwards...

If Saleh has a choice between Baltimore or Atlanta I think he chooses Baltimore. For one the ownership will keep him around longer bc they just did that with Harbaugh. Two they are more championship ready. Saleh can help build the defense and if he lucks in with McDaniel then you have a great offensive mind coaching up Lamar and that's a deadly combo.

Teams will offer him OC job. He won't come back to SF under Kyle. It simply doesn't make sense for him.

I just read he has a contract with the Dolphins that pay him through the 2028 season. So he's good the the next 3 years living large in Miami.
Whatever we or another team would offer him wouldn't move the needle financially, so he would just do it for experience and to stay current.
Also, not sure if it's like players contracts, I don't think he can get paid on top of his current pay from another franchise if he works in the nfl before the end of 2028. One of our WZ lawyers or cap guys probably knows that.
I think he could be an analyst for a tv network, which could be entertaining.
