The fact that he's being seen as an option is going to hamper shanahans game plan.

He's going to plan all week about using pearsall and his speed to help purdy. Instead pearsall going to gimp it out for 1 or 2 plays then come off the field and shanahan will have no idea what to do to get speed on the field.

Better if he was for sure out and forced cowing and watkins onto the field for more speed.

I think Kyle is a smarter game planner than that. He's not an idiot. He knows Ricky likely won't play and wont hinge his gameplan on a WR that hasnt been healthy all season.

The problem is outside of Ricky and JJ we have a pocket full of spare change at WR.

If he's healthy enough to at least grab a couple passes and be a decoy, I'm not a big fan of the idea, but in desperate times, who knows how that can pay off. Tho, I gotta admit, Cowing was looking really good in that clip of him practicing, maybe he fills in if ready.?

He looked good in a clip? Really? The guy with 4 catches career in 2 years and has been on IR for 18 weeks.....that guy. Ya....sounds like a plan going into philly in Jan against a very good secondary.

If the niners win this game I will refrain from s**tting on shanahan through next season.

You already promised this about the Cleveland game…

I thought you said that about the Browns game?

I said that through this season after the browns. I will extend through next season if they win

All this Pearsall stuff makes it seem like Kyle is setting up a scapegoat.

I remember in past regular season games where we lost (Deebo was it?), and Kyle just looked like he gave up? Didn't try anything different...or out of the box to still some how win the game. And after the game, I believe he said there was a bunch of plays designed to Deebo and when he was injured they had to throw them all out?

Someone help me remember.

Ya....hard to believe he would say that out loud. Deebo was a consistently useless tit at that point. Hasnt shown much in washington either.

I have slight optimism due to the other games this year in which we were shorthanded, i.e. the TNF game against LAR. We went in with Tonges, Bourne, D. Rob and MVS and Mac was able to dice them up all game with the short pass game. Wishful thinking, I know...
